League Of Legends World Championship Group A

A round up of the days action from Group A of the League Of Legends World Championship

Game Three - Azubu Frost versus SK Gaming
The early game of this match was a mixture of two highly dominating lanes and a standard even lane in mid.
The bot combo of Caitlyn and Sona from Yellowstar and Nyph was able to heavily deny the bot lane Corki-Lux combo that Woong and MadLife were playing.
With Frost losing the bot lane hard, Shy played a lot more aggressive with his Singied onto Irelia, he was able to farm so hard that he was clearing minion waves beyond the first turret.
Shy’s Singed was then the linchpin for the rest of the game, with him farmed so hard and the Corki-Lux lane getting exponentially more powerful as the game progressed, Frost were able to take a lot more aggressive engagements.
SK wasn’t able to exploit the gank potential that Alistar brings to the Jungle role, due to the fact that Araneae was confined to the top lane to keep Kevin safe from Shy.
As the late game progressed SK tried their hardest to close lanes down with jungle ganks, due to the AP Carry pick of Anivia, Frost were always on top of the ball keeping the lanes safe.
The game fell right into Frost’s hands as they gained a comfortable gold lead and tower lead.
Yellowstar attempts a snipe on RapidStar in the mid lane, but is forces a massive team fight that is perfectly executed by Frost [Along with some Banshee’s Veil timing] who are able to pick up four kills, two towers and an inhibitor for the cost of nothing.
With Frost in the drivers seat, they sit back abusing the Shen and gold advantage they have to push lane away from SK and try to dance for Baron.
Ocelote is caught out of position as he scouts Baron and is dropped in seconds and the reinforcements of Sona and Alistar are cut off and Alistar drops to a Madlife double kill.
With a sudden five to three advantage, Frost takes Baron on the back of a great team fight.
With the baron advantage, Frost moves into the final turrets to take down SK for the 2-0.

First Blood:
The first blood falls to Frost, on the back of an unsuccessful gank on Shy, as they pressure the bot lane taking down Nyph, but SK are able to turn the team fight back around to pick up a double kill from Yellowstar on Woong and Madlife.
Game Changing Moment:
At 15 minutes, Shy bullies his lane so hard he forces both Araneae and Ocelote to protect the bot lane.
Both RapidStar and Shy then turn their attention towards Ocelote and take him down in seconds.
With Frost knowing how powerful each of their lanes are they set about roaming the field taking out a towers and champions perfectly with their clear advantage
From here on in, AF flip to the offensive side of the coin with their 4,000 gold lead.
Most Valuable Player:
Shy’s Singed.
With the bottom lane at a massive early disadvantage from the more aggressive early level composition SK had, Shy played a lot more forcefully towards Kevin in the top lane.
With Kevin playing Irelia he was unable to clear waves as fast as Singed until his ultimate was available.
With Singed taking the XP and gold lead, he moved into a faster Hextech to make sure that he was able to sustain the hard pushing he was doing. With the choice of the Shen jungle, Shy didn’t need to go for the early rod of ages to sustain any gank potential from the jungle, he was able to survive any ganks due to the Shen ultimate.
With his lane well and truly one sided, Shy had the entire attention of Araneae for the majority of the game.
With the bottom lane slowing and becoming more viable as the later game progressed, AF took a demanding lead as Alistar was unable to make sure that he could utilise his main turret diving abilities to close down the bot lane.
Play Of The Game:
The play of the game came off the back of a failed gank onto Shy on the top lane.
At 17 minutes, three members of SK attempted to take down Shy with a big time gank.
With his massive health pool Shy is able to hold on until the reinforcements of RapidStar comes in.
With a perfectly placed wall Anivia is able to save Singed from Karthus and Alistar, but Irelia flashes beyond the wall for the kill.
However, perfect play from RapidStar sees him able to hold Irelia back with a Glacial Storm, the ignite, flash frost and frostbite are enough to pick up the kill as Shy is even safe enough to return to farm his lane.
A three on one engagement closed down by RapidStar into a one versus one that Kevin had no chance of escaping.
