MvP (MLG vs Proleague) Day Four

A round up of all the Starcraft II action from the fourth day of competition

Series VI - Vibe Z vs Rain P
Game  I
The USA national champion Vibe opens todays matches on Ohana, but he has a big hill to climb as Rain is in his way.

Both players follow the metagame for their openings as Rain is the first to show his hand with a fast robo.
Rain opens with double observers and then moves towards a third base with his immortal production keeping him safe.
Vibe pokes into Rain’s base with a zergling roach army at eleven minutes, he gets some good engagements with some multi-pronged attacks, but Rain is so on top of the defence he loses hardly anything.
Vibe’s fourth base is highly delayed, only just taking it at 13 minutes and he wasn’t able to deal the damage needed to make it worth while.
Rain continues to build immortals then moves into colossus at 14 minutes as he knows he is safe from any major attack.
Vibe attempts an attack at 15 minutes but some great force fields give Rain the edge and slowly whittle down the forces of Vibe.
Vibe then re-maxes on roaches, as his hive is very delayed, and roaches dont deal with the init composition of immortal-colossus very well.
Rain moves out at 17 minutes as he kills the greater spire with a zealot warp in.
Rain is maxed out and Vibe is hovering above one hundred supply, Rain hits Vibe’s third and there is nothing he can do, GG.

Game II
With Vibe losing the first game to the dominant Rain, can Daybreak be his saving map to take the final game from one of the top Protoss’ in the world.

Both player take the standard three hatchery before gas and the nexus first builds to open things up.
Rain takes the stargate opening with a mass phoenix option, this option gives him a lot of map control and stops the zerg’s vision by killing lots of overlords.
Rain also moves quickly around the bases of Vibe, scouting out everything, while killing a queen and multiple drones
Vibe moves towards his fourth base and hive tech, but his infestation pit is late not allowing him to take his hive as fast as possible.
Behind this, Rain takes a completely uncontested third and techs his way into colossus as Vibe is focusing on drone production.
Vibe attempts to contain Rain with a heavy roach corrupter army, but is unable to get good surface area on the attack and Rain cleans up everything.
Vibe manages to save his infestors and moves back to his spine crawler wall.
Rain is able to snipe down the greater spire with a warp in of zealots in the main base.
Rain now has a massive timing in when to force the attack on Vibe without the power of brood lords.
He waits on his mothership and is constantly forcing the zerg to watch his back with warp prism harass.
Rain attempts a push at twenty one minutes, but some great brood lord placement from Vibe makes Rain unable to land a vortex in a position he can move his archons into.
Vibe is able to hold of the push and kill off the mothership, but he over extends into a world of storms.
He is able to re-max on zerglings, but they aren’t an endgame unit.
As Vibe is stuck with tons of worthless supply, Rain moves into the fourth once again with the supply and tech advantage.
Vibe tries his hardest to hold on but is unable to take the second map from Rain. GG
