MvP (MLG vs Proleague) Day Four

A round up of all the Starcraft II action from the fourth day of competition

Series V - Alive T vs Hyvaa Z
Game  I
A TvZ takes us into the penultimate series of the night as Alive takes on Hyvaa on Cloud Kingdom.

Alive goes for a command centre first and then takes his gas before his barracks, while Hyvaa himself takes an early gas for the old style fast speed.
A fast reactored hellion build from Alive takes him up his tech tree fast and puts on the pressure earlier, the early speed from Hyvaa however negates its original advantage.
Hyvaa then takes a wacky third base, down to the south of the his natural rather than the usual western expansion.
Alive is then very concerned when he scouts roach tech and no third base, so he builds extra bunkers and makes no move to take the third base himself.
Alive scouts the southern base at ten minutes but his command centre is only fifty percent of the way done as Hyvaa has his fourth almost complete.
Alive then uses Terran's trademark mobile aggression and keeps pressuring different places with a siege line and drops. Killing bases at 13, 18 and 20 minutes.
Alive’s macro is able to keep up with all of the production of the zerg and some great engagements kills all of the high tech units such as ultralisks and infestors.
Hyvaa manages to hide a base down in the southeast part of the MPA keeping him in the game when Alive thinks he has his opponent starved out, it is finally scouted at twenty three minutes by a passing dropship.
Hyvaa manages to hang on with some great starvation tactics of his own by hitting all of Alive’s external mining bases and small groups of Alive’s units until he forces Alive into a defensive siege line to protect his mining bases.
The final engagement occurs as both players go for a base trade at thirty three minutes.
Alive sieges in the natural of Hyvaa and holds his own production facilities with high ground tanks in his main.
Hyvaa is forced to produce emergency brood lords and zones out the main army of Alive as he hits his ultras to Alive’s only mining base.
Alive manages to maneuver around Hyvaa’s armies and kill every single hatchery while he gets a defensive siege at his new mining base to the north of his natural.
Alive has a high viking-raven count and Hyvaa has next to no anti-air.
With Alive able to rebuild his army and the final push from Hyvaa not dealing the killing blow he GGs

Game II
Alive takes the first game for MLG but can Hyvaa take the last map of Tal’darim Altar to secure the victory for Proleague?

This was a game that moved Hyvaa back in contention, for advancement out of the highly competitive Proleague bracket, with every game this early on in the invitational so vital he clawed back a victory from MLG’s Alive.
Hyvaa this time around won himself the base race versus Alive, this turn around he was a lot more careful with his infestors and was able to clean up the final clump of Alive's forces.
