MvP (MLG vs Proleague) Day Four

A round up of all the Starcraft II action from the fourth day of competition

Series II - Grubby P vs Flash T
Game  I
Grubby has been performing very well in the European bracket, but now he is up against the almost undefeated Flash on Entombed Valley.

Flash opens with a reaper expand with Grubby taking the more standard one gate expand.
The reaper is intercepted by Grubby’s stalker, but is able to scout the expansion for Grubby making it safe to float his expansion into his natural.
With the early tech lab from Flash, he is able to get his stim research by seven minutes to help his focus on earlier bio.
Grubby gears up for a Sase-style gateway pressure with some early sentries and a forward pylon.
Flash scouts the proxy pylon and is able to pull SCVs in time to repair his bunker to deflect the gateway pressure.
Both players demonstrate great target fire with Flash killing all Grubby’s sentries and Grubby targeting down SCVs.
Flash comes out ahead with a more efficient trade and then proceeds to push.
With the lack of sentries from Grubby, Flash capitalizes and just pushes his way up Grubby’s ramp
With no AoE and a lack of force fields, Flash A moves to victory.

Game II
After a highly intelligent start to the series, with Flash showing how attention to detail can win you a game, they move to Cloud Kingdom for the final map.

This time around, both players take the faster expansions rather than the earlier gas from Flash.
Grubby repeats his early gateway pressure, but this time it is to establish map control as he techs to fast dark templars.
Grubby then executes some excellent micro by killing off a number of Flash’s SCVs while keeping Flash in the dark about the incoming dark templars.
At nine minutes Flash has a sizeable bio force, he pushes out the contain and moves for the counterattack.
As Flash’s main bio force hits Grubby’s natural ramp he sends in two of his dark templars to both mineral lines.
Flash responds perfectly with a scan in the main to shut down one and a turret at the natural to kill the other.
As the dark templars are cleared up Flash hits Grubby’s natural, with Grubby missing the key force fields he is able to waltz on in killing everything.
Grubby holds with an emergency dt, immortal and pulled probes, but the reinforcements put the nail in the coffin. GG.
