MvP (MLG vs Proleague) Day One

A round up of all the Starcraft II action from the first day of battle

Series III Idra Z versus Stork P

Game  I

The opening games for both the North American Zerg Idra and one of the Proleague’s Protoss’ Stork; blink and you’ll miss it.

Stork opens with some aggressive crono boosting that moves into a very fast two-base seven gate, however Idra only scouts an original four gateways.

Stork feigns a third gas that is in vision of Idra’s overlord and catches Idra completely unprepared with the highly aggressive seven gate.

Zergling speed hasn’t even begun when Stork hits the spine-less third base and Idra tries to defend with slow 'lings and Roaches but the Stalkers can kite so efficiently that Idra is down and out already.

The third falls and so does Idra in the first game of the series.

Game II
Stork and Idra meet on Ohana to decide the final game of this series.
A double gateway opening from Stork throws five Zealots at Idra early but a lack of third expansion and an abundance of Zerglings leads Idra to deal with it perfectly, taking minimal losses and a faster Zergling speed.
Stork then takes a Stargate and is instantly scouted by Idra and deals next to no damage.
The game then transitions into the standard PvZ meta game with Stork aiming for a strong mid-game Colossus push.
Stork forces engagements in positions that his force fields can abuse to ravage the Zergling heavy army with his massive Colossus count.
Idra attempts to move into his Brood Lord tech but the anti-greater spire timing is too strong as Stork is able to blink under the Brood Lords with the lack of fungals that had already been exhausted in previous engagements.
