Buyer beware: The free mount is claimable on only one of your characters per account. Each toon cannot /claim the Vulrich mount. I don't believe that is mentioned in the article.

Um... What? Let me attempt to translate this into english, and please let me know if I made a mistake.

This is what I would do.
.Vulrich mount for both new players and current subscribers
.Includes all content up to Destiny of Velious
.Double XP potion to level faster. Available to new and current subscribers
.10,000 Station Cash for returning players, and 5,000 SC to current subscribers
.30 days free play time
.1 level up token to instantly boost a level 1 character to level 90. This is to support raiding guilds get their returning players back into current raid content.
This would cost Sony nothing, but would equate to long term profits.

So if I'm correct on all of that, now to provide some opposing thoughts.
1) Including current content would be detrimental for their funds. That is essentially giving $30 to every currently inactive player.
2) 10k Station Cash is also a hit on Sony's income. That's an additional $100 given to every returning player, and $50 for every current player.
3) A free month of play time would be good incentive for returning players, but runs the risk of jading existing players. And giving existing players 30 days free is yet another hit to Sony's profits. Imagine if you were to offer working for free for an entire month.
4) The level up token, while is an intriguing notion, has several serious flaws, the greatest of which is gear.
4a) A new level 90 with no gear whatsoever. No coin to purchase gear off the broker. They would have to be dragged through current content by friends, while mostly being unable to contribute anything to the group.
4b) Additionally, they've have absolutely no AAs, making it so they would still have to grind out AAs before being able to raid.
4c) Say we make this token grant equipment and AAs as well as levels. What point do we deem fair for the freebies? Quest gear? PQ gear? Raid gear from the previous expansion? And how many AAs? 100? 150? 200? Maybe a full 300? And again you run the risk of jading the current subscribers that have actually put work into creating their characters.
4d) AND you run the risk of putting a level 90 character into the hands of someone that doesn't know how to do their role. Do you want to put your life (time and repair costs, possibly lockout time) into the hands of a healer that just made their level 90 Templar today, and has NEVER played a healer before?

Long story short, too many downsides to support the upsides. Sony's version is a bit more balanced.
