Blizzard Gives Update on Remote Guild Chat App

Blizzard has updated the World of Warcraft Remote app page with some details on the upcoming mobile guild chat feature that's currently in development for the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices. This new feature will allow players to participate in guild chat, send whispers to their guildmates and more through their phone. You can view a couple screenshots of the app in action after the jump.

If you're not familiar with the World of Warcraft Remote app, it currently allows you to browse the auction house for free or subscribe for $2.99 per month to gain access to additional features, such as the ability to create auctions and big on items. The mobile guild chat feature will be included in the monthly subscription, so you're going to need to pay if you want to keep in touch with your guild on the go.

Do you plan on using the remote guild chat feature on your phone? Does mobile guild chat make the $2.99 per month price tag more reasonable? Let us know what you think!

Real life has to be given priority sometimes, this is one of them, when the game is off, its off.

I have no use for the auction side of things, but I will probably use it to whisper an officer when I am going to be late for a raid due to work.

Sure, I could just get one of their mobile numbers and text them.. but this is far more fancy.

and safer too if you don't know them...no need to disclose your real phone number to people you don't know, but still keep in touch.

As guild leader of a very social guild I'll probably use the promised web-based version of this. It'll allow me to keep in touch with everyone without having to have the game on. Great when I'm working on school work and want to chat, but don't want to be distracted by everything else.

We've had talking cows from day one, and you're throwing a fit about talking panda's? Get over it.

Web based would be cool. I have reservations about guild chat streaming constantly to my phone.
