New Mount 'Coming Soon' to Blizzard Store

Blizzard just posted a teaser image on the World of Warcraft Facebook page of a winged lion mount that will be coming soon to the Blizzard Store. No further information has been released, so we don't know how much it will cost or when it will be available. As a comparison point, the Celestial Steed mount is available through the Blizzard Store for $25.

Wowhead recently posted an unfinished 3D model of the winged lion mount that was found in the patch 4.1 files. Check it out to get an idea of what the mount will look like in-game.

Even though we don't have any details yet, would you buy this mount when it's released? Do you own the Celestial Steed?

I just think its a waste of money to buy an in-game item with RL money. It should be enough we buy the expansions and pay $15 a month. I don't have a problem with free to play MMORPG games charging money to buy in game items, but Blizzard has enough money as it is.

It isn't a matter of not having the money its just I can think of plenty of other things to do with $25. Its not like it really proves anything to other players in-game either. Its by no means a "rare" mount, all it proves is you have more money than brains.

I'd think of this as a "want" rather than "need" item.

most of my toons look great on the Celestial Steed.
but some of them look rather "meh" on it. This is a nice option for those.
hey, for those of us who don't raid or PvP, it's an option.
People are going to ***** and moan about it anyway, and then they will start spitting and insulting those who have it... but we're used to it. Ever since the "Sparkle Pony" came out we've been putting up with the bullying.
looks stupid

just from the pic here I would not buy one since IMO it looks stupid. the celestial steed at least looks decent. Of course i dont own the sparkle pony and i probably wont own this lion ether.

@Wolana the Venerable: there are many mount collectors out there that im sure would gladly shell out $25.(though i am a mount collector i wont spend the money unless they actually came up with a really cool model otherwise ill stick to the in game mounts i can get)
looks stupid

How about fixing their own *****-ups first? Perfect example, Cataclysmic Gourmet: Unless you're in a large Guild with everyone Cooking or Fishing (giving you Guild earned recipies Broiled Dragon Feast and Seafood Magnifque Feast), you will NOT get that 30th recipe cooked. They took the ingredients for the Darkbrew Lager (Nobel Hops and Dry Yeast) that used to be purchased from vendors to make it cost you "Chef's Awards" purchased from Bario Matalli on a rotating selection with cocoa beans. They screwed up their code and never tested it before releasing it and has been "broke" for the last 3 months. Complain to GM's all you get is the standard BS line that they are aware of a problem... blah blah..... sigh, /end_rant

Well, I think that one achievement isn't a matter of ******** up, but working as intended. My small guild already has the dragon feast. Just took a few months and a lot of work. Its an achievement. which means we achieved something. We don't have the fishing recipe...yet. But I think we're over half way there. Most of us don't like fishing so its a slow go.

The fact its on a rotating setup makes me think this was intended... considering we don't need to buy a "northern spice" kind of deal I think I can deal with needing to spend coins on optional, mostly useless recipes.

What code? Because all you're listing here sounds like "Working As Intended". One achievement and a couple of recipes. I mean really, unless you have a decent sized guild that's raiding you really don't need either of the feasts. I know I personally bring my own food anyway which is just as good as the fish feast and in some situations even better.

OK, Let me clarify that:

1. It's a PERSONAL Achievement, so I should NOT be dependent on a Guild for 2 recipes to earn it. So YES, Blizz does allow that using the Darkbrew as the 30th recipe.

2. They actually TRIED to modify it as I stated in original post to switch it from a local Vendor to buy ingredients to getting it from Bario.

3. Now the problem and ***** on my side that you seemed to have missed: In changing their code for this, they evidently did NOT test it as it does NOT work... the bag NEVER offers the other ingredients, only the cocoa beans. Hence the problem. They supposedly know about it.. but in 3 months have not fixed their mistake... but lets create a $25 USD mount.....

So no.. thats the whole problem.. it is NOT working. You can not buy the ingredients, they are gone from the servers.... hence my rant about priorities (and yes I do have the Celestial mount and have 101 mounts atm).
Waiting to see

I don't know if I would buy it. I think these aesthetic items are great things to include. I personally can't afford any of them, but it presents a neat gifting opportunity.

Personally, I don't like the Celestial Stead. This one, however, looks promising. I may just save up for it after I see it in action.

Who needs more than 1 mount? Celestial Steed is both ground and air, levels up as you do, and is BoAccount so every toon you make gets one. Best $25 I could have spent... and legal as opposed to buying gold from farmers to buy a bunch of different mounts...
