WoW Pet Store Now Selling Flying Mount!

For a cool 25 bucks you can get your own Celestial Steed

The World of Warcraft Pet Store hast its first ever mount for sale, the Celestial Steed. This filly is composed of pure elemental star dust, but you may think it's composed of gold dust by its price tag of 25 bucks. Buying the flying mount will make it accessible to "all present and future characters on a single North American World of Warcraft license," and it can travel at 310% speed if you've already trained another mount to that level. So what will it be: dinner at The Olive Garden or a flying horse?

The Pet Store has also just received some cuter and cheaper ($10) companions. The pets are small, adorable versions of game bosses, namely the XT-002 Deconstructor and Kel'Thuzad, founder of the Cult of the Damned. Each pet helps you in battle, with XT stomping his feet to shock your enemies and KT freezing and laughing maniacally at them. They really are the cutest harbingers of destruction ever.

Steep innovations. But I did not want to pay money for supposedly "free" game. Let the suck. I can buy essays for school, but this is the right investment. Do not play.

I have been wanted for a new mount for a long time. I have even stopped to write my essay. But now I guess I am a fool for spending the money. This thing does not worth 25$. Hope Blizzard will never fall down to selling such crap once a week for 1-30$.

Not to my taste

To me it looks very much like an Alliance mount. If it was a shadow horse with bat/dragon wings I would buy one but not this airy blue and white thing.
FWIW

When I saw this mount, I thought it looked pretty cool. So I purchased one for myself and my wife. It was never my intention to ‘flaunt’ it. It seemed like a good idea since it is account wide and scales to the character being played. My wife and I have 4 characters each so it really only cost $6.25 per character. If we add more characters, the price per goes down even further.

My wife has a Blood Elf Priest in the 30s that rides a “chicken” and she hates it. She was looking into buying an in-game horse but I guess the Priest can only have a skeletal horse which she didn’t like either. She loves this mount.

I guess I am a fool for spending the money. However, I would spend much more than this on a dinner at the Olive Garden. The food is great, but not really good for you and the next day is only excrement after all.

At least the mount will still be there for my 4 characters and any new characters I start later. I honestly hope that the game does gets flooded with these mounts. Then they will not be as unique anymore and there will be a decreased perception that I bought it to ‘flaunt’ it in the faces of other players.

Pretty sure Olive Garden probably is going to cost you more than $25, unless your eating by yourself, in which case you're weird.

I have mixed feelings about any of this. It seems a bit steep in this economy to buy vanity items at this kind of price. At the same time people make their own money and its really not my business to tell them how to spend it.

What annoys me is people flaunting it as if it is some kind of big achievement. I'm happy you think its cool, but lets be reasonable here. Wow you had 25 bucks to waste on virtual crap...so what?

It does look cool, but I think along with any other novelty item its "coolness" is going to diminish as the game is flooded with people and their alts who have it.

Dudes, Lil K.T. has been there for months - if Lil' XT is like it, then it'll only open its can of whoop-*** on critters. The day Blizzard sells any kind of DPS increase for cash money = the day the forums catch fire.

I think they probably intended it (and would have been clearer as,) "Each pet attempts to help you in battle..."

But yeah, Lil KT has been out as long as the Pandaren Monk.

Also, the steed is worth a fair bit - it's account-wide, so forget ever needing to buy another 60/100/flying/epic mount for an alt. And it scales to fastest, so if (like me) you've grown bored only ever using that single 310 mount you got, you now have another option.
