Frost Lotus Drop Rate Has Been Increased by 50%

Bornakk's newest update to the recent in-game fixes list is comprised of only one item, but it's a noteworthy one. The drop rate of Frost Lotus from herbs in Northrend has been increased by 50%, which should make it more abundant on your local auction house.

So what are your thoughts on this change? Alchemists should be happy because it means they'll be able to quickly pump out more flasks. Herbalists who farm herbs for gold may not be as pleased since the Frost Lotus should begin to lower in price.

I spent several hours on Saturday and Sunday this weekend herbing and came away with 1 Frost Lotus. This is a better drop rate? Hmmmmmm?????

Is there a particular zone that should be more productive? I spend most of my time in Ice Crown and Storm Peaks.
Really?

OK.. remember "Math"?
Let's say current drop rate was 1 lotus out of every 100 picks.
A 50% increase would mean you would get 1.5 lotus for every 100 picks.
So 50%? BFD.
Finally!

FINALLY. I'd spend hours and hours farming and only walk away with enough for a handful of flasks. In fact on server frost lotus was selling for more than the amount of flasks it could make.

Arctic furs aren't so bad now that you can trade H. Borean for them. Still would like to see an improvement.
eternals...

I would love to see a place that matches or beats the drop rate of wintergrasp, yet isn't an auto pvp area. I need eternals left right and center for various things, but I won't keep trying to farm them when I don't like pvp, and I am not going to accept being forced to let some jackass who thinks that just because it's a mandatory pvp zone that I have to fight him when all I am trying to do is farm the eternals for my tradeskill mats. As for the ah, alot of the folks that sell stuff in there are dreaming when it comes to the prices they want to maintain.
That's GREAT...now how about those Arctic Furs!!!

I've got quite a few toons I play and by far my leather worker is leveling merely by farming arctic furs which I still can't get enough of to get the recipes from the NPC trader. Trade skills are supposed to be fun and a fairly viable way to earn money, but this is ridiculous. Hope relief comes soon.

Tradeskills are supposed to be a way to earn money? That's almost impossible. Mainly because there will always be some jackass that will sell their goods for the cost of materials. The only time a tradeskill is worth money is when a new raid opens and drops designs. You can make a nice profit if you're one of only 4 or 5 people that can make a new item on your server.

As for this change, as an herbalist I find it to be complete and utter BS. There goes the ONE thing that herbalists made money on. The time spent gathering full stacks of herbs isn't worth the piddly price they bring in the AH, and there's no money in alchemy or inscription.
