Lunar Festival Begins, Wowhead Posts 2010 Guide

The annual Lunar Festival in-game holiday has begun! Overlapping with Love is in the Air this year, the Lunar Festival began yesterday and runs until March 6 (a whopping three weeks). Inspired by the Chinese New Year (also known as the "Lunar New Year") which began yesterday, the World of Warcraft Lunar Festival is a time of celebration throughout all of Azeroth. Hosted by the druids of Moonglade, players are treated to a endless supply of fireworks and have the opportunity to obtain unique festival costumes and crafting recipes. You'll also get the chance to battle the legendary Omen of Lake Elune'ara, pay tribute to dozens of Elders scattered throughout the lands in exchange for Coins of Ancestry, and more.

Our sister site, Wowhead.com, already posted its 2010 Lunar Festival Guide (which will continue to be updated if any new information is discovered). Check out the guide for detailed item and reward listings, quest info and everything you need to know to complete the To Honor One's Elders achievement, which is still a prerequisite for the What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been meta-achievement. Most players agree that the most time-consuming and tedious Lunar Festival task is visiting all those Elders for the "Elders of [...]" achievements, but Wowhead has you covered with a complete list of all the Elders and their locations. So far, it appears that Blizzard hasn't adding anything new to this year's festival. Did you complete the achievement last year, or will you be running around collecting coins this year?
