Blizzard to Sell WoW Plush Toys with In-Game Pets

Blizzard just announced on the World of Warcraft site that it will soon make Wind Rider Cub and Gryphon Hatchling plush critters available for purchase in the Blizzard Store. While stuffed toys are nothing new for Blizzard, these two contain and extra surprise: "Each plush companion will come with a code for a matching in-game, non-combat, account-bound pet to fly by your side in Azeroth."

The pets may be wearing Horde and Alliance symbols, but both sides will be able to adopt either one. These two companions are apparently the first in a new line of plush toys that will be sold exclusively in the Blizzard Store.

These critters follow in the footsteps of the Lil' K.T. and the Pandaren Monk virtual pets that Blizzard added to the store in November 2009. Will you be purchasing either of these plush toys?

Well this beats the dollars for pixels I shelled out earlier for the Monk and little TK. Depending on how much $ they are, my kids will like them and I the pixaleted version.

Well, I love both of them.. or all four of them?
And yes, it will depend on how much they are. however, I'm sure they will be a bit more expensive than the purely "pixelated" pets Blizz previously offered. Plush toys do tend to be a bit pricey.

Once again, Blizzard allowing real world money to be exchanged for in-game merchandise that no one else is allowed to do.

It is their sand box, but I'm not paying that cover charge...

Yes, real world money exchanged for...in-game pets? oh...my...god. this gives those who are willing to pay the fee sooo much of a boost when playing WoW... dude, i don't know if you know this, but Blizz is a master of marketing, and this is just another way they'll (and they will, because ppl love stuffed animals) make money.
