Blizzard Gives Update on Instance Creation Issues

Crygil has posted an update on the instance creation issues that have been plaguing many World of Warcraft players. According to the post, "the limit on active instances was originally implemented as an interim solution to ensure that all active instances perform smoothly." This fact has previously been stated by Blizzard, but Crygil goes on to let us know the team has optimized its infrastructure to better handle the instance load on more than 40 percent of North American servers so far.

Performing these upgrades "requires fairly complex coordination with third party affiliates," which is why it will take time to complete this work on all realms. Crygil estimates the optimization efforts should be completed for all servers in the coming weeks. Keep reading below for a list of the servers that have been optimized. Realms on this list should see noticeable improvements as far as instance creation is concerned.

i play on Kirin Tor and had no problem getting into reg UK last week. first try.

and... TBH... i can't wait for Aion to come out too... maybe all of the Leetards will leave WoW and we won't have to worry about instances being full anymore.
Azuremyst server improved dont make me laugh

i currently play on azuremyst and blizzard's idea of improvement according to this is a 45 minute wait to get into instances rather than an hour wait to get into an instance. Those times were all day this weekend.

So keep that in mind when they talk about improvements. Fact is they dont want to improve this as it means people are spending longer online and therefore using up time which is the whole business model.

Jesus people.

If your servers were the ones to be fixed up and the ones that are on the list were left off we would have a different group of people whining.

You guys are probably the same group of people that get your panties all in a twist when server maintenance takes 30 seconds more than planned.

The server I play on is Moonrunner. Not currently on the list. I think that it is good that Blizz is trying to fix the problem. There have been times that I have been in a group trying to run AN and the group decides to break up after 20-30 mins of trying to get into the instance. It sucks and is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Some servers just need to wait more than 30 seconds.

Just as well. I'm on a medium population server and I'd never expected to see the instance creation message on a server like mine. I can only assume it's worse on busier servers.

And uh. Any updates on the EU servers?

There's a Darkspear US, and an EU, and I'd be gutted if the US version got the upgrade without the EU getting it also.

The name is the only thing the two share. Its not like they have a server in one place called Darkspear servicing both the EU and US servers. Its a name. And only a name. That they used on both. The two data centers are located thousands of miles from each other with completely different technicians and companies servicing them.

Dalaran is not on this list either as expected, if you notice when they hit the D's they almost went alphabetically until they came to it.

And of course, Kel'Thuzad doesn't get diddly for updates. Again. They never will; the server is still running on 2006 hardware; it's no surprise KT crashes at least once a week.
