Moblin Maze Mongers set to Open in Jeuno

When a nondescript manhole first popped up one day on the streets of Jeuno, none of us gave it more than a passing glance. Little did we suspect it would be the gateway to a subterranean world of adventure and riches...

Today we get up close and personal with the industrious Moblin entrepreneur whose new business venture is set to take Vana'diel by storm. Your intrepid reporter Finleen has the exclusive scoop with Maze Mongers President and CEO Goldagrik right here !

Depending on how much it is to build a "maze", I'm in. 1 idea I have for my maze would be for skill ups for players(myself included :P) who have low lvl jobs that need certain skill ups. There would be monsters, of course, to do this & if prizes were to be rewarded, it would depend on how "well" u'd do in the maze.

Probably only concern I can think of atm, is what RMTs will do... I'm not gonna say anything else on this matter because the brainless RMTs might actually get their own ideas.

This is what I see is going on here... Right now, with the limited information given, everyone is going to have their own ideas as to how it is going to work.

What is it:
Quote:
Only the most devious, diabolical labyrinths you've ever laid yer pretty eyes upon, lovin'ly crafted t'each customer's demanding specifications!"

Bases?

Where?
Lower Jeuno it looks like... In the middle of the road...

How?
Quote:
Every Maze Monger customer will be provided with a Maze Tabula, y'see here? Just use one o' these to make a scale model o' yer dream dungeon and our expert artisans will take care o' the rest!"
Get your own @#%^ing hatchet and design it! It's like the Sims!

What's it do?
Quote:
1) Challenging mazes for the self-improvement-minded adventurer!
2) Delightful mazes that will attract scores of challengers (and admission fees for their owners)!
3) Profitable mazes with piles of treasure to be had!"

REWARDS?!?! GIL!?!?! Viator Cape?! {yes please}

Rewards?
Quote:
Act quickly, and we'll even throw in a special limited-time offer!

and again: 3) Profitable mazes with piles of treasure to be had!"

Lol, he sounds like my grandfather.

Something to consider:

2) Delightful mazes that will attract scores of challengers (and admission fees for their owners)!

Makes me think it's a Linkshell maze.

In City of Heroes/City of Villains, Each supergroup (which is like a linkshell) could enter a "base" or maze in this case. It belonged to the supergroup and you could have raids and invade/defend other supergroups' bases. Could this be similar?

Maybe it is another style of Assault that you have to pay to compete in?

Will there be Mining Points in these mazes? I'd like something close by that has a bunch of mining points. I really want to level my Bsmithing some more, I'm only 44(+1) so far and mining gets me tons of gil.

I'm excited. What about you?

Edit: I have to admit, I wasn't too thrilled with the "bases" idea in City of Heroes/Villains. I was in a Supergroup that was pretty big on my server and we had items we won from battles that took place in the bases. Even now as I look back on it I recall players who wanted to "roleplay" in their bases. I was in a few Supergroups that DID do that and they were wonderful but the only problem I see is that it was limited to the base in that sense and I liked to walk around freely and explore. I still feel the same way.

"Of course, I know I am totally wrong" and you can quote that. Is this a permanent addition to FFXI? Is it temporary? Who knows...

This is just a taste of what's in store for adventurers when Moblin Maze Mongers opens for business for next month. Interested parties should make plans to visit the Chocobo Stables in Lower Jeuno for the grand opening!

Instanced dungeons? Piles of treasures? Design-a-Maze? Sounds like /win!
