The Free Agent: Episode 15 - MQEL

Hello to all our new readers, and welcome back to those who have been following ZAM's bi-weekly column, The Free Agent. Our mission, as always, is to answer the question "Can gaming REALLY be free?"

We have a special surprise for you this episode. Remember two weeks ago when I said our next episode would be covering Path of Exile? (If not go check out the full episode covering MechWarrior Online). Well it turns out I actually meant our next, next episode.

Instead we're going to throw caution to the wind, break all of our own rules (except for the spend no money one of course) and laugh uncontrollably as we watch poor unsuspecting noobs perish in our castle.

What am I on about you ask? Simple my friends. I'm talking about The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot!

The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot Character Reveal

Yesterday, Ubisoft announced a fourth character, the Runaway, who will join the ranks of heroes in their free-to-play game, The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot.

The Runaway was raised as the daughter of Opulencia’s most famous classical harpsichord duo. Forced to conform to the prim and proper world of the aristocratic elite, she secretly longed for a life of adventure, excitement, and lootbeyond the wildest dreams of her parents and their stuffy friends. On the eve of her debutante ball, she cast off the shackles of her old life, grabbed her trusty Axe and set off for Opulencia in search of a rocking adventure. The Runaway’s lightning speed and furious mid-ranged attacks combined with her custom musical axe should be more than enough to make her the lead in your band.

Hands-On With The Mighty Quest

A few weeks ago Ubisoft decided to celebrate the start of Closed Beta for their new F2P dungeon crawler/manager, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot. They held an Open House event - everyone who had signed up for the beta before a cutoff date was invited in for a few days to try out the game. There were even prizes given away - a shirt and 1000 keys to stay in the beta once the Open House ended. I tried out the game some during the event, but not really enough to base my opinion on the game. Now that I have a key to the actual beta and access to the locked third class, it's time to dig in a bit further and see what TMQEL has to offer.
