While the UK scene is one of the weakest in competitive gaming, things are on the up! Razer, in partnership with the UK's largest LAN events; iSeries, have announced headline-sponsorship of the Razer League of Legends Cup for all iSeries events throughout 2013. In addition to the £2,500--around $3790--prize pool for the i48 Razer League of Legends Cup, teams who sign up will have a chance to be invited exclusively to a live pre-qualifier at the Razer Bunker in London's Tottenham Court Road PC World, where they will play for over £2,000 worth of prizes and a free team entry to Multiplay i48 and the Razer League of Legends cup.

Major League Gaming has today announced the full details of the Winter Season League of Legends content. This season MLG are going big with three League of Legends tournaments, bringing the MLG Winter Season collective prize-pool to a staggering $170,000.

It's patch day for League of Legends! And that means a slew of new content hitting the servers that's live today. Among them in the patch notes, some tweaks for Akali and Riven, buffs for Nasus and Nami, a slight nerf to Jarvan IV, and a bunch of itemization changes.

Keeping to their word of fulfilling eSport fans demands for story building content, Riot have released another video to develop a storyline around the League of Legends Championship teams. The last video focused on The Cinderella Story of Team MRN, this video focuses on two brothers, ClakeyD from Team MRN and Nickwu of CompLexity, formerly The Brunch Club. The two big North American underdogs everybody is talking about. 

E-Sports is moving faster than ever right now, with the LCS (League of Legends Championship Series) kicking off this week, premier North American team TSM (Team Solo Mid) have announced a partnership with CBS Interactive and Qualcomm to produce a weekly Web Reality Series, GameCribs. TSM – now TSM Snapdragon – will star in their own Web-Series set in their San Francisco Bay Area Gaming house. 

The show will run from February 20 through June 14 and will be live-streamed on CBS Interactive's own GameSpot.com and partner Twitch.tv. In an interview with Forbes, CBS Interactive Games Exec David Rice said, “GameCrib could do for eSports online viewing what The Real World did for MTV.”

Season three of the League of Legends competitive season is upon us. The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) kicks-off today at 1PM PST, the two most popular North American teams go head-to-head, Team SoloMid vs Counter Logic Gaming. 

To raise the hype levels even more – despite risk of world-shattering MRN chants – Riot have released their first story building video, something the eSports community has been demanding. This first video titled “Cinderella Story” focuses on the rise of the unlikely champions, Team MRN, who were the biggest story of the North American qualifiers and the talk of the community. 

Every week we take a look at a handful of the top champions in the League of Legends. These champions not only excel in competitive play but also in solo ranked games; they are favorites in the community. With each champion we will also take a guide from the wonderful LoLKing.net community that demonstrates how to play the champion. It should be remembered that these guides are not law, but are to guide you in the right direction. 

The ever changing League of Legends has once again been updated. This update, known as the Season 3 patch – Season 3 starting on February 7 – introduces a new league system, similar to that of StarCraft II, and nerfs across the board. 

Players will be sorted into one of six leagues, each containing 250 players. Each of those leagues will have five divisions. To advance in your league you need to gain 100 points in your division which will trigger a best of 5 event, if you win three of the next five games you will advance to a higher division, or a higher league if you are in the top division of your league. The highest tier of competition is known as the Challenger tier, if you're on a top 5v5 team, you'll have a chance to go pro in the League of Legends Championship Series.
