My current goal is to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. According to my nifty weight loss planner (which I pull out every time my weight gain ticks upwards), it says I need to eat about 800 less calories a day in order to lose weight at the maximum of 2 lbs a week. Now, you and I know that for someone who loooves food that is asking a lot. I aimed high so I can at least get somewhere near the target goal. By mid-February, I want to be AT LEAST 5 lbs less than my current weight. Ideal would be 8 lbs.
So I began counting calories yesterday. I ate about 1300 calories and exercised on the stationary bike for about 40 minutes.
Today, my remaining calorie allowed is 300, if I don't exercise. Unfortunately, today is Happy Hour at work. Beer will be served, and I brought a small bottle of umeshu for my friends to try. Homemade umeshu is delicious, and I'm particularly proud of this batch. Since drinking and driving is highly discouraged, I will be drinking and exercising at around 7 PM tonight. Gym time needs to be at least 1 hour.
