Aren't dig sites supposed to be level appropriate? I have four sites in Terokkar Forest atm on a level 62 SPriest and whenever I land I get I mobbed by 64's and 65's. While I can drop back down to Azeroth and dig it messes with my Master Plan to get lots of BC herbs while doing Arch.

I honestly have no idea, as my character with Arch was 85 when I started. I don't imagine that it has any sort of level restrictions though, considering it's a secondary profession. Maybe you just got a little ahead of yourself?

I think they're related to Archaeology skill level, not character level, but I was also 85 when I started working on it so I'm not a whole lot of help, sorry.

Actually there are level restrictions on Archaeology. These match exactly that of others like First Aid or Alchemy. The only ones that do not have level restrictions are the 3 gathering professions, Cooking, and Fishing. So half the secondaries are one way and half the other.

As I intimated this problem did not show up until I hit Outlands. I hit a 300 skill level at level 51 and 375 at level 56 and was never pushed to a zone that had mobs more than a level higher. Even then in those zones it was a mix of mobs my level and a few that were 1 higher level.

So it seems to me that either I assumed badly or Blizz did a change and I am curious as to which it is.

Gathering professions have a level requirement now. The last leg of herbalism requires level 75, just like Alchemy. As far as Archaeology goes, I know you won't get dig sites in Outlands until after 300, Northrend until after 375, and Cata zones until after 450. Or at least, the point where you train the next level of Archaeology.

The skill requirement for Archaeology, unfortunately, says that as long as you're within a particular range, the entire continent is fair play:

1 - 300: Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor not including Cataclysm areas
301 - 375: Outland, anywhere in Outland
376 - 450: Northrend, anywhere
451 - 525: Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor including Cataclysm areas (this is the first time you can collect Tol'Vir artifacts too)
