so,one of the reasons since i dont think theres gonna be a upgrade for the goggles in 4.2(unless its not rep and it drops from a dungeon cuz i dont plan on doing any 10-25 man content with the character thats engineering) thats engineering only that im keeping engineering is the synapses springs,but i know there discovery only i think
so from looking around forums when i was bored i found out that people were crafting the overpowered chicken splitter to discover it.i figured it was just random or somethin(ive never went engineering before)but is this right,i havent really lvled up my professions cuz ive been more focused on getting lvl 85 first and then doing my professions
although i dont know where im gonna get the truegold to make overpowered chicken splitters cuz i dont feel like blowing a bunch of gold on getting it from the ah cuz its just a alt and my other professions mining which you cant get truegold from i think its like alchemy only or somethin

The title says you have an engineering question, but after struggling to read your post, I'm not really seeing a question. To answer what I *think* you're asking, Wowhead posts seem to indicate that you may still discover this recipe while crafting cheaper items, so I would try that first.

That's a clear question.
As best I can tell, any of the Cata recipes can get you a discovery. There was a little while where the recipes were bugged and people weren't able to get all the discoveries, but that was fixed. Obsidium bolts are probably the cheapest thing to make.

If you make one Overpowered Chicken Splitter you learn any remaining undiscovered patterns. Yes you can learn the rest of them by making lower level items to, but you will learn them randomly one at a time.
I didn't make any chicken splitter while leveling my engineering, and I discovered the synapse springs just fine. Funnily enough, I didn't even really know how you got the recipe until I hit 85 and started gearing up in heroics. Then I looked and I already had the recipe learned.

so i learn all the ones i dont have discovered if i make one overpowered chicken splitter? hmmm,i didnt know that maybe ill just buy the mats right now for it(i got gold to blow anyway)and just wait til i can craft it and just do that

The bug early on was that, for some reason, players could only get 7 out of the 8 discoveries. If RNG made Synapse Springs the last thing for you to discover, you were SOL. If it was the cardboard assassin belt tinker, no one noticed.
Yeah, I think I'm missing one. I have no idea which one it is though, and I have the tinkers I need, so I don't really care. =x
