Polished horn and other inscription matsFollow

Horde side the spawns are either bone dry or being heavily camped by one guild that's not AHing them - none to be found and I've had my main camping the one in Twilight all night and my mage porting around to every city and location Horde can purchase them from.

Folks on Wowhead are reporting some kind of bug which requires the merchants to be killed in order to reset them - finding it a bit hard to believe that every Horde merchant on my server is bugged though - anyone else having this issue.

Edit - fixed title to inscription instead of chanter

You talking about those items needed to make the relics?

I was able to buy mine for fairly cheap and it looked like there were a lot on the AH, I didn't know it could be bought from a vendor so I never even tried.

I saw lots of people complaining about this on o-boards, I didnt even bother crafting those. Honestly i hit 525 inscription in like 2 hours with just a ton of herbs.

Spam mill herbs, convert Blackfallow to Inferno. I think I made runescrolls until they were well in the green and I was 510 then I made a few other things that gave 5 points each. I found it very easy to level not sure what the big deal is about. Sure its a waste of gold leveling off greens but it pays itself off so fast when you get into the darkmoon market. If you dont want to get into the darkmoon market there is no reason to be 525 scribe ;)

Did they ever state that some things were going to give 5x skill ups? I don't ever remember seeing anything so I wasted a bunch of ink of dust of disappearance to get to like '09 and then I made an orange relic and got the 5 levels when I could have made the relic to get from 5 to 10 instead of wasting all that stuff.

Not sure, I think I noticed it first in one of the other professions I leveled. Like whats this 5 beside it mean? Woah 5 points?!??!!!

Yeah it was pretty sweet. Not to mention I sold a few of the relics I made leveling between 2000-4000g.

I don't recall them mentioning it although someone was actually complaining about it on another thread after the fact.

I've crunched the numbers and every time I've seen it with tailor, LW, engineering and inscript the mats to skill points ratio has always been in favor of the big combine. The only exception is if you're feeding enchanting with he excess combines or the less items have a good AH price so your mileage may vary.

I ended up doing the off hand books to scrape my way through the trinket/relic combines which didn't have the raw mats available on the vendor/AH - I'm sure you could get lucky on the STA scrolls and do it cheaper but let's face it, green combines are only done for skill ups if you've got mats you don't need anymore/aren't worth AHing or you're roadblocked by poor tradeskill advancement planning on Blizz's part.

I remember something about it from back during beta, can't recall if it was a note from a player or something said by a blue, though.

Also, if you haven't read the hotfix notes, looks like the problem from your OP has gone away now.

Sigh, yeah - figures they do it AFTER I hit 525 the hard way. >_<
