I'm just learned CSD and put some up on the AH.

Not sure how it will go but most JCs are learning blue cuts so the meta market is sparse. I think it has great potential for profit. How is this aspect of JC going on your severs?

Thinking Revitalizing or Austere next as I know someone else is doing Ember.

I have an Alchemist with bonus gem transmute to do free uncommon gems into uncut transmutes. This of course helps. :P

How many do you expect to sell before they patch the insane "more blue than red" requirement? That's one reason I've been getting gem cuts instead of metas.

Not sure, going to get a healing meta next and see if that sells better. Strangely no one is undercutting in the meta market. I hope this continues for a while.

Been selling the new CSD metas for around 650 gold.

Going to get a healing meta next and continue to exploit this market while I can.

They are changing it back

More blue gems than red gems? Ya...no. Change it back.

The current design has been reconsidered, so we're planning to revert gems that now require more blue than red gems back to their original requirements. Such a change can't be accomplished via a hotfix though, so we'll have to wait to revert these in a future patch.

I just got my JC past 475 so I can start doing the dailies. I think my order of pattern buying will be red->meta->orange->blue->meta->red->green->yellow or something like that. I definiately want to pick up the chaotic cut because who knows when that patch will come. When it does I want to be ready. I'll also pick up the stamina/armor one, and look into healer metas. Between a JC with lots of cuts and a transmute alch there is lots of synergy. Buy ore, herbs, prospect, use greens for dailies, transmute the rest, cut+sell blues, transmute metas and cut, transmute more blues and cut, repeat. Alch is pretty cheap to level. With truegold cooldown it pays itself off quickly.

Chaotics are probably moving slowly now, they might even still be BiS metas for some classes. Others might gem around them until the patch. I'm sure you can sell a couple. But whenever that patch hits that changes back the old requirements, it will be crazy for a good week or 2, and even after that sales will be more consistent. Basically chaotics are a good bet now, but they will be amazing whenever that patch comes. Definiately a great idea to buy the pattern up now or very soon just so its out of the way. Stockpile a bunch of metas for that patch too.

On my JC I don't want to neglect the rings/necklaces either, those will both be strong markets. But with the transmute alt theres a little more synergy between cut gems so I'll probably buy a huge selection of gems and metas before i move into rings. Thats the nice thing about throttling progress everyone gets their little niche for a while. I'm sure some are focusing solely on rings and necks first and making a killing there.

The key part of the meta fix is that they have to patch the client to fix it, so it may still be weeks out. And uncut metas were selling for 1k last time I looked, so that's a bottom just waiting to fall out on prices. I did grab the yellow Resil cut since PvP is starting up, hoping that makes a nice chunk of change over the next few days.

Just did a transmute of two uncut metas yesterday, hoping for a profit. Mats cost me a little over 1k gold (don't have a jcer yet to supply green gems) so I'm really hoping they both sell for at least 1k. =x

As a mage, we're definitely gemming for the CSD(to be honest, I'm using a Chaotic Skyflare because I felt like being cheap) so as people get geared, you'll start seeing more selling, even before the change back.

Meta gems for tanks are going for around 1.2k on my server, the stamina gems however are very cheap.

People aren't going to worry about or simple don't about what is happening in some future patch - they've dinged 85 today and they're buying/making/earning headgear with meta slots - they're going to buy metas now to run heroics/raid and just re-gem after the patch.

As soon as my JC builds up enough of a stock of gems its going to start cutting the preferred designs while my xmute alchy cranks out the raw metas for it.
