AH changes you'd like to seeFollow

How's about a "looking for item X" posting?

You'd list an item that you want at a given price and then put down the gold into the AH - set a timer for anywhere from a day to a month - people browse the listings and if they like your offer then they place the item into the slot, hit SELL, confirm they really want to sell it to you and you're both happy.

You could also put up a quantity that you're looking for at a certain price, say, buying stacks of ruin cloth for 3g each and you fund the AH with 30g so that people can sell you up to 10 stacks of ruin cloth. A fraction option could even be added, although buyer would have to control that to keep some idiot from selling you all 10 stacks as singles (unless you were dumb enough to allow "quantities as low as [1]").

The looking to buy feature could be vague or specific - for example, chanters could set up a fund with 100g and buy all level 50-60 items for 5g each, or you could request items by the first or second half of their names, thus making for it easier to get "of the bandit" gear or to collect a specific set of gear.

This would help get more items to people who needed them as selling would no longer be as much of a chore since people would be able to dump stuff on the "looking to buy" crowd rather then merchants, it'd give folks trying to work certain skills a chance to get mats cheaper (I can hope I sell this at 7g a stack in two days or just dump it on Bob for 5g a stack now).

I'd love a way to search by seller. I do a lot of "buy low, sell high" on the AH and every so often I'll notice the same person with a bunch of stuff that's way underpriced. It would be nice to search his name and see everything they have listed.

looking to buy would be neat, or maybe a in-game area for Bazaars (would be hella laggy :3).
That was the great thing about FFXI, it had both an AH and a Bazaar system.

Or a bazaar type system where I could set up shop, you go to a NPC and a listing of names comes up (or you can search for player) and than you could see what they had for sell.

My Bank toon had (I jut spent the last few hours selling stuff to NPCs) 4 or 5 tabs of stuff in his own guild bank. I didn't feel like listing all that stuff on the AH again to have most of it come back to me tomorrow, so I just took the NPC price for it all. However if I could have stuck it all in a shop that I "rented" for a set time..someone would have been bound to find some use to all them mats I got rid of.

A bazaar system would be pretty nifty, but if they did that they'd have to scrap the disconnect timer. I think it's at about 30 minutes currently, and no one is going to be able to sell anything in that amount of time.

yea. And then there would be issues will no one able to log in on the big realms (Cata is going to kill my play time ><)

But being able to rent a "space" (wouldn't actually see my toons, would talk to a NPC to access my goods) could work.
Would give blizz something for another Smart phone app, be able to browse peep's goods while away at work/school/life.

They actually did something like that for EQ - you leave the toon in Bazaar indefinitely with stuff set for price you wanted.

but did you have to stay logged in?

I know in FFXI you did, there were people in that game that had /play times almost as long as the game was out due to staying logged in 24/7

I wish you could search for things using Quote "Marks" and wild cards.

I am leveling my JC. Do you know how annoying it is to find Jade?

You look up just "Jade" - you get Dark Jade, Glittering Dark Jade, Jade earings, Jade rings...

Why can't I type "Jade" and get only Jade?

Try going into gems or trade mats in the AH, and then search for jade. That should help cut down on the excess jade products. :-)

maximum number of auctions per account. only way to discourage those boneheads that post 3 stacks of wool one.at.a.time.

standing orders at the ah would probably prove too beneficial to botters. instead of dumping their goods in the ah at stupidly low prices for a quick turnaround, they could fill all the standing orders first, a number of which would probably be offering above-market prices.

Blizzard took a lot of good things from Grid for the new raid frames, and from Power Auras for the new spell notifications. Adding the "General" search tab from Auctioneer to the standard AH interface would save a lot of people a lot of irritation.

I like that idea! There are of course, some things that are useful to post one at a time, but cloth is never one of these.

So what would the maximum be? I recognize that you are trying to come up with a solution, but this isn't it. I normally have hundreds of auctions posted. Just putting a cap on the total of all auctions would simply penalize those who use the AH as their source of income. AH traders aren't all bad. If I wasn't willing to buy 20 of your crafted greens to de, who do you think is going to buy them?

Limits could work if you said something like only 20 postings for a particular item by a single account. That way people like me could sell hundreds of items, but not flood the AH with 6 pages of singles on a particular item.

I just wish they would separate out glyphs by Prime, Major and Minor.

I'd like the ability to search for gems by stat. So instead of trying to remember that your +10int +8spirit gem is called a "Purified Dreadstone" you could just search for purple gems with spirit on them, or something.

Same thing for enchants. Some of them, like "Greater Spellpower" are self explanatory; while others like "Mongoose" leave something to be desired.

this would be nice too. Even if I have to put prime/major/minor in the search box.

My ideal AH is to take the EQ bazaar system and remove the aspect of having to leave a toon logged in. I especially want all the search options that are present in the EQ system.

You can search by seller with auctioneer, but you will need to do a slow scan, not the get all.

Hmm, I stopped using Auctioneer a long time ago, but I was unaware of this feature. I might need to check it out again!

I would like to search recipes by skill level. Just find me the ones that will grant skill-ups when I am power-leveling a profession.

A similar search engine to the one wowhead uses to look for items would be great.

User "sites" like ebays would be nifty too.
