How did he know?Follow

So I put a guy on ignore, after he wispers my banker asking for 1k gold. He says it's not alot because he sees that I've made over 150k on that character.

Well, I don't keep track of that information and a lot of money goes into buying and reselling mats. It got me thinking, where would he pull such a number from?

The only thing I see is that on the Armory is that it says "Marterials produced from disenchanting, 42,600". I guess it doesn't take much extrapolation from some numbers.

Usually I answer questions like "Wow, you are always buying my stuff", but this one bugged me.

He probably just recognized your name from being so prevailant on the AH and threw out an arbitrary number.

Your response is ALMOST as amazing as the gold selling ad in your signature. Bye bye.

Thanks guys. I guess I won't worry about it.

That is so funny that somebody spammed the thread suggested I buy gold instead of making it. I've pretty much gotten most of the emblem gear I need from randoms, and supplemented that with a lot of BOE stuff. I really get satisfaction from making some gold and spending it on interesting items or power leveling professions. Buying gold would certainly ruin the fun of the game for me. I probably get 50% of my game satisfaction from playing the AH.

I've never really gone for gold cap, since I enjoy working for what I get, and then spending it for something I save for. I'm actually running out of things to buy on my main. More than one of my characters has the Dalaran ring, and all have epic flying, but I draw the line right now at having more than one Traveling Tundra Mammoth and motorcycle.

So, I'm gonna play a little game and save a bit. I'm averaging 1k/day and just past 20k. I think I'll just sock it away for a bit as I wait for Cataclysm. I think 100k would be a nice goal to shoot for.

It's funny you say this; I completely agree, but one of my friends said that if he had the money he would seriously consider buying gold so he could get the ilevel 264 items he really desires. I could not understand his motivation at all for that!

I wish I had your skills, lol. I have around 2k gold, and am saving up for the 264 boots (around 8k), the battered hilt (around 11k), 245 gloves (1-2k), and the 264 BoE ring (7k). So poor...

There is a statistic that tells you how much gold you've made. Achieve statistics that is.

I know this is a bit late, but just wanted to let you know that there's an addon that gives you tooltip info on highest gold accumulated on the character that you're mousing over. It pulls the info from the achievement statistic.
