Parked myself in an area with lots of pools, had all my gear on, maxed 450 fishing - three pools and five minutes later contest was won - I doubt this thing is going to last more then ten minutes as its definitely a pure luck thing - guess I'll see if the RNG loves me next week.

FYI, your fishing skill doesn't matter for this event. Your chances of catching it from outside a pool is very low, so you should only cast in pools.

And the person with fishing skill 1 has the same chance to catch it as fishing skill 600.

Yeah, all that fishing to level two toons to cap. Oh well.

And we're not the only ones who are not happy about this - I ran into Old Man Barlo in the World's End Tavern last night, drunk as a skunk and mumbling something about "it used to mean something."

But later on I saw him leave with Haris Pilton, so . . .

Bergrisst watched Haris leave with that old fisherman feeling jealous and angry, but hey, if he liked it he should've put a ring on it.

I know - I participated in the first debate thread about it - simple reflex to note that I had the best chance possible to catch something/do something/etc.
