Pretty simple - what stuff are you stockpiling for earning mad gold off of the first week of 3.3?

Did you read the thing posted on the main page about Frostmourn (Or whatever they're calling the axe)

It sounds like you need to complete multiple quest chains to get it, but possibly some BS mats might be very desirable.

I just think overall that BS stuff seems good.

Heavy borean leather looks like a good option, since it can be turned in for arctic furs :)

I think he's asking a different question, that being: what do you think, with the release of patch 3.3, will be the thing or things in highest demand, as a result of the patch release?

I haven't followed the patch too closely as I've taken a "sabbatical" of sorts from the game. But, as it has always been in the past, this is an intriguing question and fun to speculate about. It's also fun to come back to it afterward to see who was the bestest prognosticator.

I'm thinking Saronite, especially bars, for when the cooldown comes off Transmute:Titanium

Change for the patch I take it?

And yes, I'm asking what trade skill mats you're stocking up on in anticipation of being able to make bank off of new recipes in 3.3

I hope they will finally bring out Eternal Might from Alchemy, I recon that should be a good money-maker. Start saving ur Eternals (Air, Earth, Fire, Water) now! (I am buying loads of cheep eternals now, cuz I think they will become very wanted = expensive with the next patch)

Although the spell has been known to excist since WoTL came out, I have never seen a devellopment on it. Also with new patch-notes nothing is said about the Eternal Might :(

Maybe someone knows more about that?

I read somewhere that there was some stuff going on with BRD and the dark iron dwarves...then there is the unused anvil in Dalaran...so I'm stockpiling Dark Iron Scraps. Even if it doesn't pan out then I can still use them for rep. I am currently doing the BRD questlines so DIS are piling up in my bags anyway and they are cheap on the AH so it doesn't matter if DIS don't get used for anything, I still need them for rep anyway...Win-Win

It's probably a bit late in the development of 3.3 to start speculating about Eternal Might. I forsee us not using it, period.

But you never know, I could be dead wrong. Regardless, eternals as the are a generally a sound investment for buying low/selling high. Even today it is a good idea to keep a small stach of them to supply the market when the prices spike.

Yeah, Marcko over at Just My Two Copper mentioned that a week or two ago. I've actually been saving any Saronite bars my vendor search comes up with instead of vendoring them for profit. I've got about 9 or 10 stacks so far.

Anything and everything to do with augmenting gear and raiding is likely to see a spike in price. Gems in particular. Which is awesome. With everyone blitzing heroics for T9 gear and all the raiders starting on their T10 bits, I fully expect to see epic gems flying off the auction house within a week or two of 3.3 and will continue to do so for some time. What's nice is that with 3.3 being the last major content patch of the expansion, once I get my two raiding characters geared, all the gems I transmute will be pure profit to pad my gold reserves until the expansion, and that's just hawt.

Not that it will happen anytime soon, but I want to see two things. First is the Firey Prism to use up the hot half of green gems. Same results but an evening out of gem demand.

Second would be more enchants using low level shards. You get tons of them sharding blues but they are worthless. They sell for less for less than the same level dusts and essances because there are no uses to speak of.

Now the money will come from mats to make the new recipes, as Blizz is trying to make crafted items worth using, not BiS but better than greens and equal to blues in some cases. If they go farther and some things do get to the point of very good, almost as good as BiS but easier to get/craft then crafting professions can make some money and be in demand again.

I should probably go those extra 15 levels into JC and get the best recipes then. And start stockpiling gems with honor...

Sometimes the uncut gems sell for more than the cut ones, so it pays to keep an eye on the AH. Also, diversity is a huge help. I can get more gems on AH if I've got multiple colors and multiple cuts for as many of those colors as I can. For some of the more popular cuts (stamina, defense, str, haste) I'll make 3-4 and list them. Then if I've still got more gems I want to get rid of, I'll make 2 each of some of the more obscure cuts. Seems to work well.

Also, I noticed last night that my pally's token count is now up to 30. Time to check the market on Nightmare Tears >:D

I stopped selling enchanting matts over the AH a couple of weeks ago in preparation for 3.3. Gems and enchanting matts should sell like hotcakes when 3.3 finally comes out, so I'm saving a ton of emblems to buy gems too.

I'm not too sure how long I'll stick around ICC (though it looks awesome) but I do know I'll have a LOT of gold for Cata. I recently dinged my last 80 on this expansion, so my finances look crap atm, so time to do a few dailies on my new 80 and stock on the greens I pick up on the way.

Yeah, raw gems are definitely going to be more valuable as people are going to need/want them for the new cuts that their guildies can do for them and possibly drop from instances.

I haven't seen anything about new cuts with 3.3. (Blizzard may be adding them, but I've seen nothing.) I'm not counting on it...they're already expressing concern over stat bloat. A second tier of epic gems might not be helpful in addressing that.

On my server cut gems are often cheaper than uncut ones.

Very odd.

The same is sometimes true on my server. The price of uncut gems hovers between 110-160g. The price of cut gems goes between 130 and 170g. For some reason, I find that listing uncut gems is just really boring. I'll happily browse the auction to see which cut gems are selling for more than their uncut counterparts and throw a couple of them on from time to time. There's easy gold and then there's "this is so easy it's boring me to tears" gold.

It's usually due to people stupidly undercutting each other. If they buy the uncut gem with emblems or honor, then they often don't bother to look at their AH cost.
