Well maybe it wasn't all me, but after my DK pinged 450 on alchemy I turned into a crazy flask producing nut house. Buying up every piece of frost lotus that came on the AH under 30g, now you can't buy frost lotus for less than 55g, lichbloom has gone through the roof, as has goldclover.

Teh bottom has fallen out of teh market Smiley: schooled

Time to find another economic avenue to destroy Smiley: sly

I did make 5k in a week though, oops.

When my server came online last year, a guy was bet (from another server) that he could not make 100k gold in a certain amount of time. He transferred his 80 druid and in short order had the inscription market owned completely by himself and by june (I believe) had transferred back to his normal server. He completely ruined the economy of inscriptions and herbs and there was a trickle down effect to most other products as well. We are basically still recovering from it.

Someone bought out all the spellweave on our AH a couple days ago, and I was able to put mine up for 150g a piece. =x Although that was cheaper than the other guy, who put his up for 175. Total rip off, but someone bought them in just a couple of hours.

Frost Lotus sell for more than flasks on my server.

Hate this crappy economy.

1 frost lotus makes 2 flasks though, plus with elixir spec you have a chance to proc extra flasks

My server (typical prices for making spellpower flasks)

lichbloom x 20 - 21g
ice thorn x 20 - 18g
frost lotus x 4 - 132g

Makes 8 flasks - total cost = 171g
Sell flasks at 25g per = 200g - 5% = 190g

So it's a thin profit margin at times, but generally those procs become the true money makers. It seems to me about a 15-20% chance to proc an extra flask. I admit if it weren't for the elixir spec, the profit margin is so slim I wouldn't bother.

edit- forgot price of vials. My strat with flask spam on the AH is just buy mats and sell high enough to break even. And all the procs are pure profit (minus 5% AH fee). They sell quickly. I also try to wait for deals on herbs and buy in bulk those days. So I make a little more profit then I mentioned above, also other days I can sell for 29g, etc.. just depends on market cycles.

LOL, normally that's cause for a rate down, but you actually made mad money selling the finished products of a trade skill and not the raw mats - GRATZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(now please do that on my server as I've got far more goldclover then money right now) ;-)

Personally mine, and flood the market @ 65% PCT with Cobalt Ore all at once. Normally, the good 40+ stacks would be bought out between a few people, taking advantage of teh cheap price simply to resell, and the rest simply buying my Ores over others for their price.

Experimented with both the Ore/Bar market, and the Cloth market, and found the Ore/Bar market a hell of a lot more playable. But ofc, that's server dependant. And from buying and reselling epics, I'm starting to net in a lot larger profit than I was previously. Albeit the additional effort of putting in the time to actually farm the ores is rather time consuming, the pay off is more than worth it. : )

And if that isn't an abuse of the privilege, I wouldn't know what is.

Meh, there's a lot of people who don't like it when others brag about breaking their economy. I can understand it, but I personally don't really care. I think a lot of people here rate others down for stupid ****, but the karma system is working as intendedTM.

no sure about ruining the economy, but i am SO sick of the A-holes that post 75+ auctions of 1 peice of cloth/ore/bar/herb/dust/essence.

there are a few peeps on my server that love to do this. you end up going through 10 AH pages of stupid crap just to get to a stack of 20 at a almost reasonable price. my only guess is they are trying to F with Auction add ons, but really......i just want a 20 stack of X....and not have to page through 100 pages of singles listed at 15times the price they should be listed at.

I totally agree with you on cloth, herbs and ore. But with enchanting mats it does make a little bit of sense considering the odd amounts of mats needed for a lot of enchants. I keep my mats to 2 or 5 per stack at least, to make it slightly less annoying.

As an enchanter I tend to list mats at what is required for the enchants people commonly get. So for instance if an enchant cost 6 essence I will break my stacks into groups of 6. For dust I normally list at stacks of 20 since almost all enchants will take at least that.

To Holyownage, what are you selling your saronite at? For my server people just list it on AH for 13g, which Im not 100% sure breaks you even from just taking a couple stacks, making bars and selling to vendor for 25g...

I am mining/JC right now and looking to make some my gold back after buying epic flying for my DK alt.

AuctionLite is your friend. Auto sorts it by the cheapest listed. If the cheapest are 50 stacks of 1.. just shift click and voila. Buy them all at once.

Easy stuff.

Get Auctioneer or some other AH addon. At least with Auctioneer you can sort it after cheapest buyout price and you can choose cheapest item price as well as stack prize.

Edit: Sarion beat me to it, sorry.

Well, I just spent 1500g on Frost Lotuses and Lichbloom/Icethorn from the AH. Frost Lotus minimum price is up to 40g now and I made a total of 12 extra flasks thanks to the expert thingy.

Now I've got flasks for an entire month in my bag and I'm excited to see what will happen to flask prices when Frost Lotus prices have gone up 30% *snicker*

Saronite is f-d on my server too - I'm this close to just turning it into bars and vendoring it (or turning it into gems on my JC toon) as the bars are barely clearing 26g a stack and ore is at around 12 bid/14 buy. Ah takes, what, a 5% cut so those people are only just making over vendor cost assuming they make the sale on first posting, otherwise, they're taking a loss.

Rate up for pointing this out though as I was this closing to dumping a full mining bag on the AH and probably would have taken a loss - now I'll start farming the AH for under vendor cost ore and just recycle it.

What I tend to do nowadays for mining is to mine cobalt. Saronite may or may not be over 20 gold a stack on my server, but cobalt tends to sell for around 30 gold a stack. If I want ore to prospect, I can sell two stacks of cobalt, buy three stacks of saronite and tap that ore for its goodies.

I'm going to scream if this is the case on my server too - hold on a sec...

@#$% cobalt is going for @#$% 2g for a small handful and 3g+ for the rest.

So what's the best zone for cobalt pharming. :```(

Made a character on alliance, a priest, leveled her 20, and proceed to lap thunderbluff mining copper for 4 days.

I own the copper ore market, which is surprisingly lucrative!

I just made that post about Small Eggs, lol. I own that market, selling a decent number of stacks a day for 16-18 Gold. And getting a stack is so fast, and it produces Light Leather (5-6G/stack) as well.

Why in the world do people have trouble making money in this game? I'm not even the type that has ever had a 5 digit value for Gold. But c'mon...

Mithril and thorium bars (bars > ores) seem to be fairly steady sellers on my server. My highest characters are 61, so I can't really comment on end-game ores/bars.
