Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok ChopsFollow

#1 Sep 15 2009 at 3:12 AM Rating: Decent
looking for people that have gotten this recently. Down to 7 more recipes for Chef de Cuisine. Saw it on the AH for 2K. I don't have that much right now. So choices are do the Quest chain or do Dailies and hope to fine it again when the time comes.

Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops

You can get the Chef title without this recipe. As I recall, the quest chain to get it is very long and can't be solo'd. So, you might consider skipping it, unless you can buy it off the AH.

I'm not sure if it's still working, but when I was working on the Chef title, I used the add-on Ackis' Recipe List. Very useful for tracking down the recipes I was missing and where I could get them. Some needed a little more research to figure out quest chains, but at least it gave a place to start looking.

I decided to seriously go for this title a few days ago and I am 2 away. My recommendation is to get the Ackis Recipe List addon. It's really great for this, showing not only the recipes you are missing, but how to get them.

For example, have you gotten the recipe for Goldthorn Tea from Henry Stern, who's trapped in a cage in Razorfen Downs? How about all the recipes from the 2 vendors that spawn for the caravan in desolace? How about the recipes for the opposite faction, that you may be able to move through the neutral AH?

Good luck. Knowing where to look is half the battle.

Wait, so is there a second cooking title or something?

No additional title, but Chef de Cuisine is the final cooking achievement. Learn 160 recipes. Who's cuisine reigns supreme?

Ah, okay.

I got to 147 recipes before I realized that I really didn't need to... I don't really want to go hunt down the last 13! xD

Best addon EVER. Thank you!

To get the Chef title (Hail to the Chef) you need 160 recipes(Chef de Cuisine). You also need to cook 45 Northrend and 26 Outland dishes. Serve Feasts on all 5 BGs. A few minor ones

Actually, for Hail to the Chef and the Chef title you need:

Quote:
The required achievements are:

* Grand Master Cook
* Kickin' It Up a Notch
* Second That Emotion
* Our Daily Bread
* Sous Chef
* The Outland Gourmet
* The Cake Is Not A Lie
* The Northrend Gourmet
* Critter Gitter
* Dinner Impossible
* Captain Rumsey's Lager

Notably not required is Chef de Cuisine.

Oh, and thanks to the addon I mentioned above, and a few of the cheaper recipes in the AH, I got Chef de Cuisine completed easily.

Actually you don't need Chef de Cuisine (Dadanox's post above). I got mine title and I have only Sous Chef achievement, so I can vouch for that.

Please do try to confirm your info before writing misleading posts.

Good point.

Just curious if this was changed at some point?

It's been months since I completed 'Chef', but I thought I remembered needing the Chef de Cuisine achievement to complete it. I hope I didn't chase down all those recipes for nothing. :-)

That's what I thought to, I will triple check when I get home. I would hate to post a lie due my own poor memory and not rely on the experts here.

To obtain the title, it is not needed to have the 160 recipes achievement. I only need to cook 3 more WotLK recipes for the 3rd part of the achievement The Northren Gourmet and I will have the Hail to the Chief complete.

Somewhat on-topic link: recipe!

I would try it out, but I have none of the ingredients. I'm a rice-a-roni and instant potatoes kind of girl.

Any recipe that has rum as the first ingredient can't be all bad ;)

back to the OP, down 2 five recipes to go. one in Dire Maul and 4 from the horde.

For the Chef title down to 2 OL fish dishes, no one goes to Kara to fish it seems

If you are talking about Skullfish Soup, the Crescent-Tail Skullfish are fished from the river behind Karazan, not inside.

Oh wait, perhaps you meant that you aren't a fisherman, and none are on the AH? In that case, find a guildmate, learn to fish, or advertise that you will pay a fisherman who will go get them for you.

Right, I have never fished on this toon. I plan on posting a WTB on the Realm O-boards and spam trade while playing. I can see the money to be made with fishing, 5g per fish times 10-15 fish per cook times who knows how many cooks per realm. Other bad part is they do not come in the barrel of Fish for Rokk's dailies.

On the other hand, Chef de Cuisine is done. looks like 3-4 recipes to spare.
