So yeah.

It's already been noted that it's going to be a secondary profession, and is meant to play a role in this Path of the Titans thing that they've got going.
Obviously there isn't much to lead on at the moment, and not much more soon after Blizzcon has ended, but anybody wanna take a shot in the dark to it's involvement?

I'm guessing, once you hit milestone levels in the profession, ie 25; 50; 100; 175; 250, you'd get a talent point based feature, of which you can then chose which to further go in, after you choose your "path". Anybody else?

I just hope it doesn't end up as simply Herbalism with a shovel.

"Ooo! A patch of shiny dirt! Let's dig and no doubt find a priceless artifact from some long-forgotten age!"

Going to be secondary so not like a primary. Seems like what you'll end up doing is finding artifacts that will aid you on your "Path of the Titans" for it. Sounds kinda lame but I look forward to it if I'm still around. (that's a LOT of 2 letter words in a row o.o)

I read somewhere something about possible rewards coming from it, like titles or minipets. *Anything* to get more minipets for me!

But seriously I am so excited to learn more about it! In 'Lord of the Rings Online' there is a profession where you study/collect ruins and such-it is used to make things like scrolls and potions, so this won't be like that(since those are covered by other professions).

There is also something similar in Free Realms. You basically run around looking for 'piles of stuff', and then collect what is in them. I worked on collecting everything in one zone, that was essentially collecting artifacts(dinosaur bones, ancient pots, etc). Once you find everything you get xp and vanity items(a cool shirt was one reward).

Whatever it is, I'm really anxious to learn more about it! It sounds like something I could spend all day doing!

It'd be a nice time to implement more companions similar to the non-combat ones we mostly see now, but ones with have perks. Sometimes, even the opposite.

From what I understand, you collect things, and when you collect enough of the same type of things you can research them to open new paths for the Path of the Titans. I know you can also collect mini pets and titles. They showed one of the things you study is a weapon, so hopefully you can find weapons and armor as well.

edit: Just saw this over at wow.com covering the second class panel:

Lots of vanity items, money, titles, big rewards coming from Archaeology. Personally, I can't wait. "Fedora and a bullwhip are the minimum" for the rewards they'll design.

This. In my mind its like the best profession ever, with all the prices and going to through all *** artifacts from who knwos what age or millenia especially if they add lore to it but if it ends up being herbalism with random objects, Ew.
