Change of tailoring specialization- how?Follow

#1 Jul 17 2009 at 12:06 PM Rating: Decent
I choose Spellfire pre-WoTLK but now I wanna change to Shadowweave to get 2 Ebonweaves instead of one when crafting. How/where do I change specialization?
Thankful for help!

I think you can change it in Dalaran at the tailoring shop now. If not, you'll have to go to Shatrath and speak to the cloth trainers there, first to the one you are specialized in at the moment to unlearn it, then to the one you want to switch to, to learn it.

Correct - it costs around 150g to remove the specialization if memory serves, but that's chump change in the xpac.

Is the ability to change specialization exclusive to tailoring, or is it allowed now with other professions as well? The reason I posted what I did is because back in the day that was the only way to chance specialization in leatherworking, etc. Has that changed, or is this just a tailoring thing?

It's not just a tailoring thing. The one where it is still not allowed is engineering, but I read that they are planning to change that as well.

I have changed my alchemy specialization more than once using the same process.

You've been able to change your Engy spec for quite some time now, but it requires reading some book and levelling Engy back up from the very beginning.

Oh. And if you originally had Goblin, de-specced ( so to say ) and levelled it up 'till you got Gnome, you then won't be able to use anything crafted from a Goblin engineer.

And that includes things like the Jumper Cables XL, of which a Goblin can normally craft but both specs can use.
