I've started buying under priced adamantite ore off the AH since I read you will be able to get epic gems in the next patch. Is anyone else doing the same? How many stacks do you plan on having hidden away, how much is too much? Do you intend to start selling as soon as the epic gems are released and try and catch a market high, or will you wait a few days/weeks for a price equilibrium?

I'm hoping to have at least 30 stacks ready (about 30g a stack right now on my server... I only have about 5k gold right now, so about 20% of my savings) and will try and sell half right away (first week~ish) and then trickle out the rest to try and hedge my bets. I'm tempted to really try and horde a bunch, maybe 100+ stacks... but not sure I'm prepaired for the risk. Still need epic flight and cold weather and all that jazz...

I thought that the new epic gems were going to be coming from prospecting Titanium Ore?

Unless there was something else in the patch notes that I didn't catch?

OP you're doing it very wrong

Go check the price of titanium ore...

As for the rest of your question: I'm going to buy spellpower, stam and then I'm not sure maybe res or res/stam depending on how many tokens I have and how much they cost

Most likely you will make more money selling the cuts and not the gems themselves as people will be able to buy them with badges, honor and a lot of people will be prospecting

Another trick I'm going to try is stocking up on Icy Prism (I don't know if I can mail them and hold them in the mailbox yet but if not I'll borrow my friends bank spot for a while)

This might even be an entire waste as there is a debate wheater not the items are formed on creation or when you open them. I guess i'll find out in patch 3.2

Might want to dump that ore back into the market. O_o

But this raises an interesting idea.

Would it be wise to start buying Titanium Ore even if you have neither Mining nor Jewelcrafting?

I mean, is the price expected to rise significantly after the patch? If so, I might start buying now and make a tidy sum when the patch hits.

The price of ore has already (at least) doubled on my server - yet the bars haven't moved yet. I sense a buying 'opportunity' :)

Prices are skyrocketing on my server.

I already have like 10 stacks of ore saved up so I guess I'll just start farming a lot more.

Depending on what the mats for the transmutes are, I think the Alchemists have the edge on the new market.

So glad I dropped alch/herb for alch/jc a month ago. Transmutes + cuts = $$$

Ok, so I've been buying out all the Titanium I can find these past few days, I have about 10 stacks so far on my bank alt. I've spent about 2k so far, and I've noticed that prices are already rising. Then again, it might just be my massive demand and the fact that I'm pretty desperate to get my hands on all that I can.

Titanium and Titansteel bars also might be worth looking into; when the price of Titanium Ore rises before the patch, the price of the bars made from it are projected to rise with it.

Anyone else confused on why the ore is going so so high?

I mean you can buy epic gems with EoH badges (which is about the only thing in 3.2)
You can trade valor for EoH and buy even more gems

You can buy them with honor

Honestly I think the market may drop slightly once people relaize how many badges are sitting around collecting dust

Than again maybe people are lazy and stopped runninc heroics and 10 man nax a long time ago and don't have any saved up =)

Come 3.2 there aren't any more EoHs from dungeons. They're all going to conquest from heroics, and people will get gear first, not gems. New PvP season means new PvP gear to spend honor on.
