Worst fishing trip ever O_oFollow

#1 Jun 13 2009 at 10:01 PM Rating: Default
Its the terror fish daily in Wintergrasp on my server and to date, I've been rather fortunate in knocking it out - not tonight.

Problems started with my level 71 hunter alt - I'm fishing Horde side and that elemental that camps near the flight point jumped me. Fortunately there's two 80s fishing right next to me so I politely ask for help in /say - unfortunately they're a pair of a-holes (two different guilds) and they ignore the elemental as it proceeds to gank me twice (fortunately it then aggroed one of the a-holes who was forced to kill it).

With the elemental dealt with I was free to fish in peace, the a-holes, having not wasted the three seconds it would have taken to kill the elemental when it attacked me both times, completed their fishing and left.

With the Horde a-holes gone, that meant I was now fair game for the brave Ally a-holes and sure enough, one showed up quite soon - a dwarf warrior who demonstrated his great bravery and skill by ganking a toon nine levels lower then him who was fishing. Not content at having dispatched a toon nine levels his junior who was at full health, he sat around hoping to catch me upon resurrecting at partial health and no pet - one must applaud his bravery.

Unfortunately for this mighty dwarf warrior, rather then help him stroke his ego fighting so challenging and mighty foe as my alt, I elected to flip to desk and hit my email for a few minutes and his patience proved to be on par with his bravery.

Unfortunately for me, one ganker was rapidly replaced by another and as soon as the brave dwarf disappeared I managed one cast and was promptly ganked by the now respawned elemental.

With no fellow Horde in the area to clear the elemental, I was forced to take my chances with the heroic dwarf possibly still loitering in the area and struck out into WG to find a clear fishing spot.

To add the final bit of insult to injury, I stumbled upon a frozen herb - my toon's herbalism skill was only 410 but fortunately I'd knocked out a pair of +5 enchanted herbalism gloves with my chanter - unfortunately I'd sent them to another alt that was working herb/inscript and thus wasn't able to gather the frozen herb. >_<

I caught my final terrorfish and hearthed back to Dal for the turn in where my efforts were rewarded with a chunk of worthless glass and my umpteenth broken compass.

Worst fishing trip ever! >_<

Okay, thread locked. Keep it civil, folks. - Fleven

And Yosalt misses the point by a mile as out of the four deaths, only one was caused by PvP, while the rest of the bad luck could have just as easily occured in a non-PvP zone. O_o

It still isn't as bad as some trips to Orgrimmar as Alliance to catch the rare fish :-P

Bad luck? Point?

In addition to PvP happening in a PvP zone...being 9 levels lower than most of the mobs in the area gets you killed easily?

Being too low to pick herbs in the area nets you zero herbs?

Are we missing something more important? Or, is this simply a QQ post about dying in an area you really have little business being in?

Or, were you just bored and felt like blogging about your fishing trip?

I've had better luck not aggroing any elementals on my lower level toons by fishing the pond to the left front as you're facing down the strip of land away from the fp. There's a 90 degree-ish corner of water just off that 'path' where I have yet to pull any mobs.

And fortunately, the only Ally I ever see near the horde fp on my server are just running a mining route and ride right on by.

The hordies weren't a-holes for not helping. You're an a-hole for thinking you're entitled to it.

The alliance player wasn't an a-hole for killing you in a PvP zone, no matter your level. You're an moran to think PvP won't happen in a PvP zone.

The mob killing you wasn't a pain. You're a god damn hunter and couldn't get away from one mob? What did you do? Watch it kill your pet first, then let it kill you? Its called running away and sacrificing your pet. And if at first that doesn't succeed, feign death!

Oh wait, not being able to pick up an herb in a lvl 80 PvP zone at lvl 71? That's atrocious! Better call the Wahbulance!!

if you drag that elemental back to camp those guards will kill it, where you won't have to deal with it, also it doesn't always get to you, stand farther away so that when he swims towards you, your not in aggro radius.

solved.
#9REDACTED, Posted: Jun 16 2009 at 9:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Sadly, we either did or didn't have the fort (forget what makes the guards and quest NPCs poof) as the only NPC in the camp was the flight master and he wasn't interested in helping.

So PVP happened in a PVP zone to you one day, it interfeared with your plans that day and your cried a little on the inside while it was happening to you.

You told us all about what happened to you that day, and how everyone around you in WG wronged you while you were crying about trying to do a fishing daily. We told you QQ more about the whole experiance and keep it to yourself next time.

do you feel better now that you have come came back and rebuffed all of our comments? do you fell better now that you have our approval?

rustle, what is the point of this QQ thread other then to boost your post count?

Is simple common courtesy - I've rescued plenty of lowbies that were doing various quests in higher zones who had the bad luck to get jumped by something big with my main - takes all of three seconds to kill the thing - its not like I trained the mob into them to or was trying to take out stuff for XP I had no right trying to level off of.

It still doesn't make them a-holes for not helping. They in no way caused it, they just didn't help. Its like calling people who don't donate to charities a-holes.

You see someone lower level who's minding his own business and fishing and then you not only gank him but proceed to camp him, despite the fact that he's done zilch to you to warrant the attack, much less the camping - yeah, that makes you an a-hole.

Its called PvP. Don't like it? Don't play it, and don't go into the zones where it happens. Otherwise, suffer the consequences and quit the *********

So tell me, what kind of moron runs from a higher level mob into an area that's infested with even MORE higher level mobs? Based off of your advice, apparently yourself. O_o

As for FDing, first thing I tried McFly, but the problem is that the higher the level difference, the more likely the mob sees through it - try not to tell peeps how to play classes you don't know how to play.

What kind of moron would rather sit and get killed by a single mob than try to run away?

Freezing trap + disengage + aspect of cheetah + feign death + pet sacrifice + wing clip + scatter shot(for MM) + concussive shot + Intimidate(for BM). Lots of ways to get away from mobs. I learned them leveling my hunter to 80.

You seriously suck if you can't get away from a single mob with a hunter. Like, really suck.

Yawn - low reading comprehension skills I take it, otherwise you might have noted that I had the ability to pick it but had forgotten the +5 herb gloves - forgetting the gloves and missing the herb I could have gotten was bad luck.

That's not bad luck. That's stupidity. Its tied to much of the rest of your bad day. I'm guessing you have quite a few. No wonder you complain so much?
#12REDACTED, Posted: Jun 18 2009 at 7:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yawn, yup - as you can see this forum is just chocked full of QQ posts by me having had a bad day with one of my toons...oh wait, its not.
