JC dailies questionFollow

#1 May 28 2009 at 2:12 PM Rating: Default
Last night I hit 74 on my JC and proceeded to Dalaran. I was unsure whether
or not I could get the dailies but lo and behold after doing the pre-req I
was offered one (the Iron Dwarf Brooch) which I completed. But I was only
offered the one. I was under the impression that you could do one of each of
the six each day or am I mistaken? Anyone have a clue for me ? :) Thx.

Only one of them is offered each day and there is not a set rotation, same as the cooking and fishing dailies.

Wow this is going to make getting new recipes very very slow.
Thx for the clue.

Oh and fwiw I have never done fishing or cooking on any of my
toons.

enchanting - trade dream shards for patterns(can buy all in 1 day)
leatherworking - trade in leather for patterns(again, can buy all in 1 day)
Inscription - books
alchemy - discovery
blacksmithing - nobody cares
Jewelcrafting - 1 pattern, every 2-6 days. And then you need to do the JC daily if you don't want to spend upwards of 150g(my server) for the Dragon's Eyes.

Well, you can get lucky and find a Damaged Necklace. They give you a repeatable quest for a JC token.

Yeah but LW really cant make good money off them. Inscription is ok now but glyphs dont sell for too much unless you have a rare one. Alchemy same thing. JC is basically 150g a day for one daily if your server really sells them that well, and if you do get the patterns you can still make good money off of the Scarlet Ruby cuts and some Monarch Topaz.

JC has become the ultimate power player tradeskill - I'm guessing that's why they made it so slow.

If mem serves, there's six JC dailies (all random - you could get the same one every day for a week) -

Dragon bone - go to the area in Howling Fjord where the trees are all burning and there's baby protodrakes - kill them till they drop a bone.

Viking jewelery - again, hitting HF, find some of the viking people (if you're Horde then there's a small camp of them to the west from the southern flight point) kill them till they drop the jewelery

Animal bone - those moose-like critters in HF drop the bones you need - you can usually find herds of them within spitting distance of the southern Horde FP

Dwarf jewelery - the dwarves in northern HF drop the jewelery you need for this one - if you're Horde then take the northern FP and they're a bit to the southeast.

Elemental - the ice elementals at the waterfall near the northern Horde FP in HF drop these.

Scourge - haven't found any scourge in HF that drop this one yet sadly so I just hit the ones in Borean Tundra.

My JC is a mage so I set the hearth point at the southern Horde base in HF to make the daily faster and easy - hearth down, grab what I need and mage port back to Dal.

The good news is that you're getting gold and XP (and a lousy 25 rep - that's gotta be a mistake IMO) in addition to the JC token so yeah, its not incredibly fast, but since you're only 74 (I've been doing them since level 70) there's no real hurry yet.

Cooking - 1 to 3 awards a day, BoP unlike JC so they cannot be traded or sold. 3-4 for a recipe.
Alchemy - Completely random discovery.
Inscription - Books for new recipes that cost hundreds of gold, and a 24 hour cooldown for a completely random discovery.

I'm taking it that you think the system is unfair, but it is really pretty balanced across the three I listed and JC. LW and enchanting are different but also require some outside time/trading. Blacksmithing I have no idea about.

Cooking Awards buy Cooking Recipes
Jewelcrafting Tokens(which ARE BoP) buy Jewelcrafting patterns - Dragon's Eye's are BoE but they do not buy patterns, which take 2-6 Tokens each.

HUH?? Where do you trade dream shards for enchanting patterns? How did I miss this?

You trade Shards for enchanting formulas in Dalaran at
the same place (different npc) where the trainer is.

I got the drop for this one in Naxx25.

Was amazed.
