How common are the new fishing rods?Follow

Disclaimer - not a QQ - just curious.

So I've been working the fishing dailies pretty religiously since they came out on five toons and my GF on her one toon high enough to do them and to date I've only got a fishing rod as a reward once (ironically enough on the alt with the lowest fishing skill - the bone rod for my hunter) and my GF never.

I don't know if we've just been having bad luck or if the rods are simply uber-rare?

As a side, we haven't gotten the NC pet as a reward yet with anyone and only got the +5 fishing line enchant once as well (ironically enough, also on the low skill hunter) - as a plus point everyone but one toon (more irony - also the hunter) now has the hat.

How's everyone else's luck been on this?

I got the hat very quickly, yet to see the rod or pet after probably 50+ tries.

I do the fishing daily with two toons, one every day and the other about four times a week. I've been doing the fishing daily religiously with at least one toon since it first appeared in BC. I have not gotten any of the +fishing equipment yet. On either toon.

Now, having my undergraduate education in the science field I understand that all reactions seek equilibrium, so - there's someone somewhere who is getting a lot of +fishing equipment from these dailies!

I've gotten the lock box twice as a reward, both times it had the +int gem and some misc blue gems, got the +agi once and +sta once as lose rewards, have yet to get the sealed vial, although GF got it twice so far.

I got the bone fishing rod today. I like it better than the Kalu'ak one, soo I' making it my default fishing rod.

I've probably done the fishing daily about 20 times so far. I can't be asked to do it every day, but it's not a bad way to spend 5-10 min I guess.

The bone and jeweled fishing rods have each been observed to be in bags of fishing treasures about 0.5% of the time.

I've done fishing quest in dalaran nearly every day since it came out on one character, and for about a month on 2nd character.

I've had 2 jeweled poles (1 on each), 1 pet, 3 epic gems. No fishing hats.

I always thought i was unlucky, but now I think i am luckier than most with the fishing quest. I have only gotten a pole once(the blue skull pole),the pet, and i have been getting the SP gem about once every 2-3 weeks or so, and last week i got it twice(about 5 or so now). I keep getting the hat and compass as well, probably 5 or so of each~~

I can believe that - I've actually gotten the pet crab twice now (2 different toons) but still only one rod on five toons. :-(

For the first two or three months of WotLK I did the fishing daily every single day on my main. Then I took a month or so off the game and haven't been as faithful as I should about doing the dailies. Especially now that my druid is also finally a lvl 80 and I'm working on leveling some of my other alts, so I can get their crafting skills up.

I'm probably doing at least one fishing daily about 4 times a week or less, though sometimes I do it on both characters. Despite my low attendance, yesterday I somehow pulled the bone rod on my druid. YAY!

So it's either less rare than we think or I was extremely lucky. And I don't often get lucky.

Now if I could only fish up that damnable sewer rat!

LOL I wouldn't be surprised if my timeline is off. Sorry for the confusion. What I should have said was that I started doing them every day the moment they were available to me.

Also, before I could do those dailies I of course had to GET to Dalaran, which didn't happen till at least two months after the expansion hit.
