What to replace?Follow

My hunter currently has Mining/Blacksmithing (chose them back before wrath came out because i could make decent mail armor, not so anymore). My blacksmithing is 435, and i'm thinking of replacing mining when it hits 440. I'm currently considering either Jewelcrafting (the gems are cheap on AH, so making a profit will be relatively easy), Leatherworking (for more BoE epics), and Inscription (for the high-end darkmoon cards that sell for a bundle). I'm having a hard time deciding, so i was wondering what your thoughts are.

I to was in a debate with myself whether to switch professions or not. I personally would take JCing. I had Engineering and mining up to 440 and then I decided that engineering wasn't that great. I was in the same position you were in. JC for money, Blacksmithing for armor/weps (for you this is LWing) and inscription because I was curios ;). I eventually decided to go to JCing after some research and have never looked back. It took me ~3 days to lvl Jcing to NR. Keep in mind that this was me mining everything and only buying a few gems.
I haven't looked back since. I make TONS! of money from buying and cutting gems. And then I was pleasantly surprised to find the Prismatic gems I could make at high lvl's for myself. So I guess after all this I am telling you to go JCing because no matter what everyone will need gems to put in there new gear.

(And the Super gems and money are nice too.)

As a hunter, I'd replace blacksmithing rather than mining, and switch to engineering to make your own ammo and guns with mats you mine yourself.

Presently I'm mining/enchanting and if not for the fact that I've got a couple rare BOP enchants on guild raids that my guild leader would like to keep available to the guild, I'd drop enchanting in a heartbeat to take up engineering. As it is, I've got an engineer acquaintance who will make me my bullet kits, and since I farm my own mats, my ammo is free except for the tip I insist on giving him even though he says its not necessary; still 20g for 200 stacks (20 kits) of ammo isn't bad. I also got my Nesingwary 4000 gun for the cost of a single frozen orb.

Please edit your reply to remove the goldselling spam. Thanks.

To the OP: if you haven’t already begun or finished the Sons of Hodir rep grind to exalted, inscription will save you a great many daily quests, since you can use the superior inscription shoulder enchants. I think jewelcrafting’s dragon’s eyes are a better benefit however, since you can use them to meet metagem requirements and get socket bonuses while filling blue slots with “red” gems.
