New mount obtained from fishingFollow

Looks like Blizz finally decided that the turtle mount model was going to waste. Nobody seems to use it anymore.

Regular mounts are available at level 30 :)

Awesome info, thanks for clearing it up! I thought it was a manta ray mount myself, but a turtle is MUCH cooler!

Yeah, according to El's forums, there are some doubts about the authenticity of this "new" mount. If it runs at 60%, why make it walk? If it swims in water, why be in Dalaran? Some people are saying it's a hoax since the turtle in the video looks and moves the exact same as the TCG turtle.

I'm staying neutral and withholding judgment for now :-P

Update: Sea Turtle has officially been caught on the PTR and got a skin color change to differentiate it from the loot card. It runs on land at normal run speed (no speed boost), but swims at 60% speed boost (a bit over the trinket from the STV tourny, but far less than my glyphed swim form). Mount speed boosts effect the mounted speed; not sure about in water, but definitely on land. Catching it gives the achievement "Turtles all the way down."

Damn you and your luck! I heard reports last night of people already catching it. Bah, rare my tush. It's only going to be rare for me :-(

Aside from hitting 80 on my first char, this is my other main goal. I want!

Got my turtle today was fishing the fangtooth herring schools north of skorn (got dark herringx2 in the process).

My turtle mount will forever remind me of Kyrin but it is better to remember the life that was lived then the life that was lost.

Was not a fan of fishing before the updates - just felt too dang slow accomplishing anything to me. I definitely give credit to those who toughed it out to 450 before the ezmode changes.

That being said, I'm now 450 and already finished the Dalaran fountain so I decided to knock out some more achievements. Went to do the Outland Angler and Northrend Angler. Northrend Angler requires 10 different kinds of schools. I completed it and while on my way back to town I stopped and fished in 5 other schools. Got the turtle. Pleasantly surprised the RNG actually was kind too me for a change. Oh and kind of dreading logging in tonight to tell a guildee who's been a fishing diehard since the release of WoW as she still has no turtle lol.

Got my turtle like two days after 3.1.

I fished up to cook 80 fish feasts and eventually I got lucky or whatever and got it.

Truth is ... it's pointless. It's slow and for me, useless. Some people do seem to like it a lot, but a slower land mount doesn't do anything for me ... If I could've AH it for anything over 100g, I would have.

Hopefully, I'll get luckier and finally get the ZG tiger at some stage, THAT'D make me happy.

Caught early this morning while killing the last 10 minutes of my shift at work. There doesn't seem a whole lot of use for it at the moment except as a vanity mount. I like it though, it's kinda cute
