I've been trying to get the northrend gourmet achievement done for some time now. Only thing left is making the tasty cupcake. I've found all the other "emote" recipies in the starter areas. All except the silly cupcake. I've looked it up on every wow site and it seems to have the best drop rate from the pirates in HF and nexus. I've grinded both for hours without much luck.
Anyone have any tips or remember where they got theirs? This is driving me crazy!

Run instances with heavy humanoid populations - the emote foods will even drop in raids (the Haunted Herring became an ill omen of a massive wipe in Naxx25 for us for the longest time) otherwise keep slaughtering humanoids - it'll drop eventually.

got mine of the bugs in borean tundra, right next to valiance keep, while doing the quest...
All of my Cooks got them all in their first runs through reg Nexus and U-Keep. try a few instance runs to mix up the grinding.
You got to 80 before leveling cooking?? Should have done the other way around. I got all my emotes dropped while questing.

I seem to have gotten all my "emotion" recipes from the cooking dailies or from the supplier in Dalaran.

I don't ever recall getting the new emote recipes from the cooking dailies in Dal - I've gotten some of the old Shat cooking daily recipes, but I've yet to get a single emote food from the Dal cooking daily and I've been doing it with five toons, three of whom have the level but not the emote foods.
except I've NEVER done an instance, even less so with my two highest level toons, yet they both have the cupcake recipe, as well as the haunted herring, last week's mammoth, bad clams, and the delicious chocolate cake.
I looked them all up, and they are all BoP recipes. Yet I have them on two toons that I KNOW never went into an instance.
However, both toons have been doing cooking dailies religiously for a few months now.
