Auctioneer/DE questionFollow

#1 Mar 10 2009 at 11:29 AM Rating: Decent
I frequently used enchantrix to buy and DE stuff in BC. I made a ton of gold this way and I'd like to start up again. My enchanting is up to 375, so I got the new auctioneer and enchantrix. However, I'm noticing a lot of new things. In this SearchUI thing I checked out the Disenchant tab. It resembled my old /enchantrix percentless X command. So I did that and got many results. However none of them look realistic. I assume it is because of wrong info on the price of DE mats. If I /auc getall every day will this go away?

Also is there a way to buy the list of results faster than one at a time?

If the prices don't look right, there could be two reasons:
1) Not enough scans to establish a good price. In order to get a good data base, You should scan regularly. Every day is good. You should also perform a scan before using the DE searcher.

2) It could be that the prices are, indeed, correct. You could be remembering prices from the old days when /enx percentless was in use. Prices have changed, many of them upwards. I use the appraiser tab in Auctioneer to sell my mats, because of the ease of selling in bulk. In general, the only thing I have coming back is Illusion Dust, but I make enough on other stuff to sell Illusion Dust for a discount.

I click on all the buyouts in a single go, but I still have to confirm the buyouts by clicking on "yes". Same goes for bids. I'm fairly certain that Blizz insisted on this. The last time that Norganna had "automagic buying" - (Bottom Feeder) - Blizz stomped hard.

Thanks for the reply. Between that and a little bit of the auctioneer's website I think I'll be all set. You also helped me out quite a bit back in BC through your posts as well. So thanks for that too.

I moved the confirm box so "Yes" resides over my buyout button. This way as I am spamming Buyout to clear my list I can go ahead and knock out as many confirmations that come through as well. after your list is gone, you just keep confirming until you get all that is still there.

There is an option to buyout with right click, I use this with shift to bypass the buyout button and the confirmation (I have it set to give confirm dialogue over 100g).

Just shift right click the list to buy out, I can buy up a page in a few seconds.

Kewl! I didn't know that, and that gets you a rate-up!

If you check the Power Seller box in the options menu, it will skip the list and just popup the confirm box. Check the box to search while scanning, and then all you have to do is click the yes button in the confirm box to bid or buyout. This makes it work much more like bottom scanner and you don't have to run through the buy list. Just click to start your search, hit the scan button to scan the AH, and everything that matches your search parameters will just popup a confirm box to click.

The market is about 450+ pages deep on the Alliance side on my server, and I generally throw down about 400-600G for bids and buyouts on a full scan. I get a lot back in outbids, but it still takes me about 5-6 reloads in the mail box to get to the bottom of the stack, and I'll often have to make 2-3 trips to the AH to post auctions, just to clear my bags to open more mail. I run with 2-20 slot bags, 2 16 slot bags, and the stock BP. the 2 -20 slot bags hold the equipment I haul on my character for questing and crafting, and the other 3 are open for loot. I have 415 Enchanting & 430 Engineering.

I generally run my scan, then get lists in two parts: the first part is the buyouts - I'm doing nothing but buying. For the second part, I unclick "allow buyouts" and click "Allow bids", which gives me a list of everything biddable. Since I've already done the buyouts, only the stuff I want to bid on gets displayed.

Scanning page 92 of 394.
Estimated time left: 22 Min 10 Sec.

People need to auction off less crap.

Hey Marza run the quick scan, it uses your computers processor and takes ~3 mins to scan the full auction house.

Does anyone still DE for profit in lich king? I remember in BC you had to be somewhat savvy and take the extra 5 mins to set up and learn enchantrix and learn the bidbroker & percentless features.. but the new auctioneer has this built right in so the average guy seams to be doing this more and more.

I remember I could buy 3k worth of items easy a day and now I can barely get 500g worth of items. It might just be my server but what are you guys finding?

I was never able to buy 3K worth of items. Before LK, "buy" meant ~300G, with another ~800G in bids (total ~1100G). Now, "buy" means around 200G with another 600 in bids (total 900G) I get about 25% of the items I bid for - that hasn't changed at all. so my purchases went from about 500G to 350G - meaning that my profits at 50% markup went from 500G/session to 350G/session now. It's still more (and easier) money than farming nodes.
