Why don't I get Tin?Follow

#1 Mar 03 2009 at 4:38 PM Rating: Decent
I'm level 150 now with mining..
I get much copper and silver when I mine, but I never get any tin when i'm mining tin
It only raises my skill level, but doesnt give me any tin, I tried many times already

Is my level to low or am I doing something wrong?

Are you mining in the areas that contain tin? Those are mostly areas that are for L20-30 toons.

Yeah I am mining in an area with 4 tin mine spots

Chances are someone else has been going through the area and mining the nodes, taking the tin and leaving the stones and stuff, if thats all you seem to be getting.

Yeah the Tin part is a bit of a pain.
I find the best spot to farm this is running circles in Thousand Needles.

I am not 100% sure how it works after recent mining rehaul, but thats seems to be the only reasonable explanation. Node stays because it still has items in it, but there is no ore. Do You receive coarse stones and gems from this nodes? If yes I am pretty sure that is the cause.

I don't get anything from the spots.
Only some skill level points..
And when I wait for the tin point to respawn, still nothing..
So nobody before me mining on those points..

I found that Stonetalon is also a great area for tin.

only four nodes? It must be a very sparse zone. Try elsewhere.

So you're saying that you walk up to a tin node, click on it, receive a skill point from mining it but don't physically receive any tin ore from it?

Does your chat box show any dialog of you receiving tin ore or does it only show the skill point?

Does a loot window open for you to loot the tin?

If these two things aren't happening then either you or the zone you're in are bugged - I suggest submitting a trouble ticket - it may be unique to you or it may be a known problem (like the current mail bug of not being able to send certain tradeskill items).

It's in Eversong Woods almost on the south of the map (the Scorchet Cove)
There are 2 tin spots over there..
If I look on a map where to find mining spots, they don't show them either

I guess you didn't understand the part about L20-30. That means "higher level areas" and "not the newbie zones", for those who are educationally retarded.

He completely ignored my questions seeking clarification as well - the way he responds makes me wonder if English is a second language and he's using a translation program?

I wonder if maybe he's using an add-on and the add-on is show the node locations of stuff that can be tin or silver and he's reading it as being tin when its actually silver?

4 spots? go to another area.

even at a lvl 30s zone, there was still some tin, starting to be more iron.

When I'm going through tin in the mining thing I find that lower areas are most useful (and least frustrating. Lots of tin in Darkshore ( <20) and Loch Modan (<20) if you look in the right places.

If the OP is a bloodelf - which seems likely if he is mining in Eversong - then I'd expect tin to be very rare and need a move to Ghostlands to find much.

The bug as described is very odd. It could be due to an addon perhaps?

The other thing that sounds wrong is mining 150 in Eversong? Copper is grey at 100 so this has been done entirely on rare nodes and the unmineable tin?
