Good stats, but still BoE. Thus I'm still glad I dropped it for JCing.

Isn't it better to have them BOE then BOP? You say BOE like it's a bad thing.

I think he says it like that because it isn't anything unique for the profession-users; whereas JC does have unique items (trinkets, Dragons' Eye gems), it's own daily, and a good way to make money (prospecting).

Locke,

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I hope they give something like that to tailoring. What's so wrong with giving tailors a way to add a socket an item? Are people hearing/seeing anything like that coming out soon?

That is a blacksmithing thing (they can add sockets to bracers and gloves). Tailor's things are embroideries (lol) and cloth scavenging (oh and the flying carpet...)

Well, there areis always the tailoring-only shoulder enchants. And the flying carpet mount. And you can always sell spellthread I guess.

Honestly, I don't know how much JC will stand up as time goes on. The first people to get the neck and ring designs made good money, but as more people get the designs the prices drop. The dragon's eyes were very high, are now high, and will be a lot more reasonable as time goes on. That's because they take a JC token to purchase and you can only do one daily every day to get one token a day. As soon as the JCs finish using them for themselves (to buy designs) more will flood the market and prices come down.

In my opinion, JC isn't making money because Blizz gave it more things, but because they chose such a dopey way of getting the dragon's eyes out there. However, having said that, I don't know that I can think of a better alternative. Having them drop in heroics would have rewarded players in raiding guilds who could get into heroics faster, having more dailies would have rewarded players who leveled to 80 the fastest. Maybe they should have done a combination - use the daily at first to keep the supply limited until a certain percentage of people leveled to 80 and then opened up another daily or two or had them drop in heroics.

Edit: to correct a moment of stupidity

I take it these 'runed orbs' are going to be new drops from the new 25m raid?

The stuff seems rather expensive though - 20 high end cloths and 6 of these orbs - as someone who's not a clothy main, is it really worth it?

Actually the shoulder enchants are an inscritptionist thing.

Actually, you're right. My bad, my priest is tailor/scribe and I screwed up. I'll edit my post - thanks!

Tailors get the embroidery for cloaks and better spellthreads.

Actually the spellthreads aren't better they're just cheaper. The epic spellthread is the exact same as the tailor only.

It depends on the manner of obtaining the patterns that I am concerned about. I don't know if I'd ever use them, but I am a collector. I like to have everything!

Since the end result is BoE then, based off of previous XP with stuff like this, I'm betting BoP raid drops.

The real trick is whether or not those orbs will be tradable - if mem serves the last xpac version of those initially weren't?
