I just switched over to Jewelcrafting and I ran about 4 heroics yesterday for emblems and shards(wanted mount and BoA shoulders)All the end bosses droped recipes. My question is do they all drop recipes? Do they drop one kind or is it random?
I searched google but I don't see a list, WoWhead seems to suggest they drop a static recipe. Just wanted some clarification.

Either you had an incredibly lucky streak or they've changed the drop rate as I've never seen JC (or any) recipes drop like that in heroics.

These are gem designs that drop from boss mobs or normal mobs. The rate is 100% as long as there is a JC in your party who can learn it.
Red
Fractured ( +16 Armor Pen. ) - Nascent Val'kyr mobs, Storm Peaks
Precise (+16 Exp ) - Herald Volazj, Heroic Ahn'kahet
Orange
Accurate ( +8 Hit, +8 Exp ) - Ironwool/Plains/Stoic Mammoth, Storm Peaks; Shattertusk Mammoth, Sholazar Basin

They are JC only and can only been seen if there is a JC present that doesn't have the pattern.
Great info Dean - is there a comperable list for any other tradeskills?
You can use an easy filter search on wowhead for it. That's where I got all of my JC pattern stuff. can go by vendor, drop, npc, etc.
