I couldn't get this recipe for the longest time as well. Don't worry, it will drop. 2 weeks ago I got the cake and lightning recipes in the same week. So it will come eventually.

same here. cooked all the way thru Outlands, never got it. Still did dailies everyday and finally got it. Not worth the bother, but I guess it is tried to an acheivement.

I've not gotten this recipe yet either but I find achievements are more for injecting new fun into the game rather then anything else, just like I am trying to finish all the instances in classic..something I never did..just leveled my way past them all, but do you think I can find a group now for some of them...lol

But the cooking achievements are alot of fun to go for

I have been cooking since I started my toon, but for some reason I don't have credit for "revenge is tasty" from outland. Every damn day I have gone to shatt and that daily isn't being offered. I also need the damn thunderbrew recipie.

I feel your pain

FYI, the cake recipe (and I think all of the BC recipes?) also drop from the Dalaran cooking daily, so you have two chances of getting it each day.

I do the cooking dailies religiously with my main every day so I had all the rewards from them a long time ago - got my chef title back when 3.08 finally fixed the bug with the missing recipes.

The other posters are correct that you can also get the quest reward recipes from cooking dailies - my alts have gotten a few as well as friends and guildies - just keep cooking, you'll get it eventually.

Day 41: I think I'm losing my mind. I've collected 1400 manaberries, massacred an army of Kaliri, and made enough fried serpent to feed Northrend. Yet still the cake is a lie. A dirty filthy lie.

I got the cake recipe the first time I did the daily.

I'm not having quite as much luck with the pets from the fishing daily.

Getting the cake can be the sux. I ran the daily for 1.5 months. Then I went on vacation to the Carribean, ran it the day I got back and got it. Maybe it was that warm weather that influenced my karma?

Now I'm back in the meatgrinder trying to get Captain Rumsey's Lager from the fishing daily. That hasn't been too bad though, I'm really enjoying fishing and I've gotten several cool rewards.

I've gotten both the cake recipe and the Stormchops recipes from the Northrend daily (I believe someone above mentioned the same). Maybe you'd have better luck there (unless you're doing both the Outland and the Northrend dailies. Then the best thing you can do it keep plugging along)?

I remember getting the cake the week before WOTLK.

The baby crocs continue to elude me.

In other news, I need to figure out how to get the last 6 recipes for 160 recipes.

Wow, that is just unbelievable. It does prove the rule though, that each attempt has the same probability. That is the rule, isn't it?

Anyway, I wouldn't ask this otherwise, but your situation has me shaking my head and feeling for you. Is it possible you got the recipe somewhere along the way and learned it, but were distracted at the time and now forgot? I know that sounds crazy, but so does going so long without getting it. Isn't it down at the bottom (or the top, depending on how you look at it) of the recipe list and not with the BC recipes or WotLK recipes? Or am I thinking of the cupcakes? Can someone confirm this - I'm at the office atm.

Well, the fun thing about profession lists is that you can search for them by name. Putting in "Cake" for example should show it just fine. I'm hoping they know this and have done so :-P

It took me around 2 months to get mine, so keep at it!

I love you!! I knew I was missing something but... hah. All this time and I didn't know that. Thank you thank you thank you!

I'm missing the Kibler's bits and I'm feeling your pain about now Nephthys I hope you get your cake soon. (and eat it while your at it)

I am very happy about the extra chance through Dalaran daily. It took my by surprise when I got my stormchops that way.

*now to go see if I have Kibler's bits and just missed it!*

i do the cooking dailies on 4 toons almost every day.
3 of 4 of them have all of the outlands recipies....its my hunter that those stormchops elude.
he does the shat and dalarn cooking dalies pretty much every day.....he has yet to see that stormchops recipe drop.

2 of those 4 toons are closing in on the title though, just a few more days of Dalaran dalies to be able to buy and cook what i need for the Northrend gormet acheivement they need.

.....i cant wait to stop doing the worthless shat city daily cooking quest....and i long ago gave up collecting mana berries, that one was just way to tetitious for me.

Same for me on the crocs and until 9:20am this morning, was the same on the cooking recipes. However, I found where the rare recipes are sold in Desolace and now I'm at 155/160. Hopefully tonight I'l bag another 2 from the other rare vendor.

Ackis Recipe List (addon) says there's one that drops in Maraudon which will take me to 158 and one from a quest chain in Silithus (159). No idea where to get the last one though.

Yeah, just keep doing both.

I wish the croc pets had a really small chance to drop from any daily, with an increased chance from the croc daily. That one seems to come up so rarely...

I went back and did the Outland daily for a week and the cake dropped. I think the drop rate is slightly higher from the meat crate than the fish but I remember reading somewhere (maybe patch notes) that the recipes now also drop from the Dalaran daily as well. But one thing I can't figure out is where to do the Critter Gitter achievement. I only have that and the Gourmet achievement left. Is there a place that has a lot of critters to do this?

Deeprun Tram ftw. Rats, rats, and more rats! Took a screenie of myself with a rat posse :)

For Horde, not sure. Does it work on any critter? Try the area in Howling Fjord with all the turkies (eastern part of the zone, near the little dwarven camp with the Lebowski-esque character). There are the 10 you need to kill for another achievement anyway, so just use the bites instead.

I just got the cake recipe on the weekend. I did the daily (which I had been neglecting for quite a while), opened my bag and there it was, I was excited. Just got Mr. Pinchy last night too, I am on an achievement roll (or will be if/when he gives me my pet!).
