hey, don't normally post much cause I can normally find whatever I need in the forums w/o having to ask in a thread. But I've never seen anything about prospecting. I was wondering if there is a chart around somewhere that states the gems you can receive from each type of ore and what lv you have to be to prospect the ore. Currently 80....trying to lv my jc...I've neglected it for a long time and feel now I should try to cap it off. mining is 440/450 and jc is sadly only 255/450. If anyone knows anything that'll hep thx alot.

When I was working on my Jewelcrafting I did a bit of prospecting between 260 and 300, mostly due to a shortage/overpricing of mats on my server. Then I just made whatever I could using those mats. If you have auctioneer addon you can see all of the gem types you can get from whichever ore you can prospect as well as the level required for prospecting I believe. You should probably be prospecting thorium at your level. At your level I was making red ruby rings and pendants and truesilver healing rings. Easier to just base what you make on the mats you gather. I waited until I had about 40 gems before I started crafting so that I could take whichever path would get the most skill-ups.

You can actually only download Enchantrix from the Auctioneer website, they made abundle just with that for people who only wanna see what stuff prospects or disenchants into. It is really nifty and breaks down with percentages what any item disenchants or prospects into and gives you the needed skill point info aswell.

Go to Auctioneer Download website and scroll down till you see the enchantrix pack.

Just as a recommendation, its usually cheaper to just buy the gems in question then trying to prospect them as inevitably, the prospect rate will make the process more expensive.

I used Crafter's Tome when I leveled my JC a little over a year ago. Their guide has a little chart that shows which gems are obtained from which ore up through TBC. Hasn't been updated for Wrath yet.

Thx for the replies. Got the crafterstomb bookmarked now. Not using Enchantrix yet, but I'll get that asap. And I'll try to find the time to do a couple mining laps to farm up some ore to prospect- been busy since I hit 80.

Shouldn't that be 255/300? You can't go to the 375 trainer until you get to at least 325, and you can't go to the 450 trainer until you get to at least 350.

I think the OP was just looking at the big picture instead of his next immediate goal by stating 255/450 instead of 255/300.
