Where do you go for Titanium? Sholazar Basin or Icecrown?

I have found it in Sholazar, and you can get it in Wintergrasp also. I cannot confirm Icecrown but have been told its there also.

When farming I do a lap of Sholazar then head into Wintergrasp. I try to time it so I'm in Wintergrasp mining for about 30 minutes and then the pvp begins and I join that.

It is definitely found in Sholazar, Icecrown and Wintergrasp. It could theoretically be found anywhere that Saronite spawns (it is a rare spawn off of a Saronite node spawn point).

I have had really weird luck with it so far. On days that I do farm, I usually spend about 3 hours farming. This generally nets me about 400 Saronite Ore and around 12-20 Titanium ore. However, the other night I got my usual 400 Saronite ore, and 49 Titanium Ore, so I attribute that to sheer dumb luck.

I usually just stay in Sholazar (unless it is super-crowded). If you have an epic flyer and fly slightly unusual patterns and know where most of the spawn point are, you can mine a bunch quickly.

If Sholazar is too crowded, I go to Icecrown. I really don't farm Wintergrasp because of the "No-Fly Zone". Ever since I hit 77, I try to use my horse as little as possible. I am a Paladin, so Epic Flyer with Crusader Aura FTW!

Ice crown is amazing for ore if you get a good farming route. Ive gotten a stack of titanium in 3 mins, hit 6 in row, but as others have said its random. The longer your out, the more you see. One other thing about icecrown is that its so damn big, it can support alot of farmers at one time, which gives you better chances for more riches, and titaniums.

Sholazar is fantastic for densely packed nodes...I went out there because I needed some eternal fire (engineer + cinder clouds ftw) and on my way out, I hit 3 titanium nodes back-to-back.

Icecrown is good because, as others have said, it's a very large zone. The main difficulty is that in Icecrown, the nodes are often in less-than-desirable places (ie. parked under an elite skeleton) but that fact alone tends to drive a lot of people back to Sholazar. Sholazar is the WotLK Barrens chat on my realm, whereas in Icecrown all I seem to see are people LFG for the group quests there.

I've found a fair number of them in Storm Peaks around the Northern parts. Several times I've found them up against the Titan buildings.

If you draw a line on the map in Storm Peaks from Frosthold to Valkyrion it will cross a cave that contains mechanical dwarves. This cave is underfarmed and almost always has 2-4 nodes of ore and herbs. As my farmer is a rogue I just slip in, sap, and take what I want without a fight.

Since I'm also a Herbalist I generally do all my farming in Storm Peaks, especially since I can farm Lichbloom in large quantities there and it sells on my server for 80g/stack.

I found my first one yesterday in Sholazar. It was right next to where you become a "slave".

For the most part, sholazar. There is just a ton of saronite nodes, and quite a few titanium nodes as well. If I have the time, i'll pop into wintergrasp when its not really busy and find quite a few titanium nodes as well. Kinda stinks you can't fly in there though.

I went back tonight and found another node near the first one in Sholazar. There were a few people flying around looking for them so it's the luck of who finds it first. No biggie. Not like the 5 people camping the rare spawn after a hunter was saying he'll pay 1000 gold for whoever finds it for him.

I go to Wintergrasp about 45min before a battle, farm and then join the battle, i just want enough to make my daily Titansteel bar and the other mats i farm there are just a bonus.

I like to farm in WG over other places:

nodes tended to be closer together
fewer mobs to deal with
less farmer to fight over nodes since you can't fly there and being PVP only area,
easier to kill opposing faction especially if they haven't tapped a titanium node yet.

I have found an odd trend: there seems to be 2 or 3 level 70 that spends almost the entire time farming there. 70 don't belong to WG because the mobs are 80, and it's almost impossible for a 70 to farm a node next to mob. And when they seems to spend 24/7 I report em to GM and let them sort them out.

On an average 2.5 hours run between battles I've gotten 20-30 titanium ores and upward of 15 stacks of saronite ores.

PS to those who do fight over nodes in WG, try not to chase a druid. I had a ret pally who tried to chase me away from a saronite lode. By luck I was out of combat and into scholazar when I shifted to flight form. The pally who tried to follow me didn't watch his step and his corpse ended up half way down the wall and quite inaccessible for ghost form.

Another time I had a 78 hunter who tried to kill me, at the time resto spec'd. Battle lasted over 30 minutes with his pet dead twice from my thorn =) Since I have sucky dps as resto I quietly got a friend to help me. A boomkin druid came in and thypooned the hunter over the edge from fire into dragonblight. When I checked, all I could find was skeleton half way down so the hunter probably took spirit rez. Just wondering how many arrows can a 78 hunter use up in 30 min nonstop? Not to mention repair from 25% rez durability loss.
