I haven't yet had the chance to cruise through northrend on any of my toons, but I was wondering if it is possible to "skin" any of the beasts if you have a high enough herb gathering skill, or mining. I ask because with BC you could "herb" some of the bog lords in zangamarsh as well as "mine" some of the rock guys in one of the instances as well as the rock guys in nagrand. Just was curious if there was anything like this in the northrend areas
There are nature elementals that can be herb-skinned in Crystalsong Forest (I think). I saw one running around somewhere and herb'd it

Additionally, Frozen Herb can be "herbed" (opened, thawed?) for a variety of plants.
There are several enemies you can herb/mine. In the Nexus the big trees and treants for example. Also in Coldarra, the ancients can be herbed.
Basically, if it looks like a tree or a treant in Northrend, it can be herbed.

And if you are an engineer, you can 'mine' the robot type of mobs. You mostly get scrap of them, but every once in a while you loot something useful, like Handful of Cobalt Bolts
