While reading Azurac's rant, and thinking about my own trials and tribulations with Alchemy, Inscription and cooking; I was wondering what the 'special trick' to maxing out each of the profs is. This is what I have so far -

Alchemy - Northern Research, click a button once a week and learn a recipe that you hope and prey isn't grey (yes it rhymes). You're also hoping that the pot/elixir doesn't suck (so far, they have).

Blacksmithing

Enchanting

Engineering

Leatherworking

Inscription - Minor research once a day, simple mats needed to give a minor glyph, usually grey. Northern research - once a day, more involved mats needed to give a major glyph (at least my first one was major), orange.

Jewelcrafting - From Azurac's rant, similar to cooking, do a daily quest that awards a token that can be used to purchase patterns as well as the gems used to cut them.

Cooking - do a daily quest, some minor grinding/searching is needed, chilled meat is a staple. Quest awards 1 token (a second token sometimes comes in the supply bag). 3 tokens can be used to purchase recipes. All recipes except 2 are lvl400, so skillups are far from guaranteed.

First Aid - looking for that damn book.

Fishing - Fish, fish and fish some more. Does anyone else find themselves going back to Shat to do the daily quest there just for the hooks? Ever since they made quest drop on the first cast, it's quick and easy (unless it's crokolisk in the city, which then takes two hearths). Any word on Northrend fishing dailies?

That's what I have, anyone see glaring errors or can fill in the rest?

Tailoring - Farm for cloth. Enough to supply the Salvation Army with more clothes than they will ever need.

Enchanting - Sell your soul for cash. Then proceed to spend all your money on greens nobody wants, DE them, and stand in Dalahell spanning Trade with enchants hoping someone will take pity on you and buy it.

Cooking/fishing - They dont have to go together but its easiest if you simply assume that they should - cook what you catch till you hit 425 and HAVE to use cooking award recipes (by using fishing to level cooking fishing seems less tedious and more productive).

Decide ahead of time which one you're going to skill off of so that you dont burn mats for it.

LW - Save your arctic furs - its tempting to use them for easy skill ups early but you'll regret it post 400. Skin EVERYTHING. Combine leveling cooking with leveling LW - anything that can be skinned drops cookable meat - win/win. Warsong Hold starting zone is an excellent place to score tons of free leather and chitin as there are dead, looted bugs all over the place - yes, they usually drop scraps but there's so many of them its obscene.

Once you hit 440 you can't get a skill up without making something that takes Frozen Orbs - learn the two cloak recipes from the trainer and spam your guild that you've got them.
