Has anyone noticed, that while fishing, quest fish seem to come up alot faster?
Well, if you want to catch Ironjaw or old crafty in less then 20 casts....here is a tip.
Get the fishing daily to catch a baby croc. go to Org or IF. Fish. catch the croc and toss it out/destroy it. keep fishing and destroying the croc till you get Old Crafty.
I did it last night in Org to get old crafty. I have not tested to see if it really works in IF for ironjaw, but i assume it will.

Something is definitely up with this. Right after the acheivement patch went live, I grabbed the Croc in the City Quest on three of my fisherman. One had already Old Crafty, but not the other two.
On the first cast with each of the non-crafty guys, I caught the croc and old crafty. Two old crafty's in two casts on two different toons.

the daily fishing quest has been crazy lately, first cast/catch always seems to have it.
Part of the making old content easier patch - they also made it so that when doing the gathering quest, skinning now gives residue on every skin and mining seems to give one on every hit too. Sadly, herbalism didn't get nerfed and still only gives a residue every 2-4 gathers. >_<

You think this would work cross-faction wise? Like if I'm horde, and go into IF, i can perhaps get Ironjaw this way? Might try it just for fun:P I got old crafty a year ago,,, was stoked.
Its worth trying to see if it works in IF as well as Org.

ironjaw is from IF, the quest is for SW, so I doubt it will work.

I'm certain it won't, because I got Old Ironjaw two nights ago as Alliance, and it took about 100 casts.

You can catch the Baby Croc in IF. I do it there every time because it's less of a run from the Mystic District to the Forlorn Cavern compared to the Mage District to the Canals. Ok, no it's not, but I like IF better :-P And yes, you can definitely complete the quest in IF.
I was working on the 500 fish achievement the other night in IF. After 200 fish I caught Old ironjaw... but because I was fishing for speed and been at it for awhile, I was like a robot. Hotkey fish, mouse click to catch, hotkey to fish, etc. I had auto loot on so I never had to click the fish out of loot box.
Well needless to say... when Old ironjaw popped up in loot box, I was so robotic I hit my hotkey to cast just as I noticed the "accept will bind to you" message and it was to late. Toon recast and I lost old ironjaw. I'm at 200+ casts now and still no old ironjaw yet.

If you consider QQing noting that herbalism doesn't have the 100% success rate for the gathering quest then I can only suggest you get a life as you're obviously becoming a forum **** and thus in desperate need of one.
my responce that you QQ about everything had little to do with your comment on the nether residue drop rate for herb's, but more to do with the fact that every post i see you make is a complaint, a whine or general discontent with everything that happens in game or done by blizzard.
I can confirm that the Crocs in the City trick works for Old Crafty but not for Old Ironjaw - despite being able to catch the baby crocolisk in Ironforge.
I have the quest up and have recently hit the 250 and 500 fish achievements fishing Ironforge alone. Still no Ironjaw.

Boy, when you figure out the difference between someone noting that herbalism doesn't give a quest item every time and QQing, then we'll stop treating you like a snot-nosed kid with one thumb in his mouth and the other in his ***** till then, go back to your NE hunter - KK?

Org is somewhat bugged, you will almost always get the Crafty on first cast with croc daily quest.
I have gone some 1,000 catches in IF with no ironjaw even with croc daily available.
