I'm trying to farm the arcanite dragon recipe for my engineer - my one small comfort is that I'm using a skinning toon and thus scoring tons of leather and dragon scales.

I never want to see another dragonkin again after this. >_<

Ouch, that's rough! I remember feeling lucky to get the potion and tailoring recipes off those guys, but the engineer recipe is the worst. Hope it drops soon!

I sometimes have to wonder if the game doesn't look at your behavior and somehow figure out what recipe you're trying to pharm - when my tailor went there to get the blue robe recipe it took forever - its dropped an average of twice a clear for me so far. The pot recipe was no big deal as no one uses the things - I ended up with over a dozen so far - a few made sales on the AH, gave two away to guildies and the rest I said f-it and merchanted. >_<

Pretty sure they do know what you're after. It seems if you've been reading a recipe or said something in chat they start dropping. Having said that, when I've been looking for a single item it's never dropped for me, but today in an instance someone mentioned a dagger. It was the first drop after he said that. I've been farming mats, and I get several in the first half hour, then for ages nothing, then they start dropping. Blizzard definitely know what you're after and they do test your persistence. I'm sure of it. It seems like when you decide to quit one of what you're after drops. So you keep going. Try a rabbit's foot in your bag. Never know. Could work. But I'm not riding a frostsabre mount, I have no crimson or azure dragon whelp for a pet etc. Sigh
