I've been neglecting my tailoring skill for a while now, and I need to make up for it. Where do you thinkthe best place to farm silk cloth would be?

(PS I'm lvl 53)

farm mageweave or runecloth, sell, buy silk.

but if you really prefer to go after silk itself, then i recall SM and that level range is a good place.

Yeah, I'd suggest instances. You can clear out SM-GY and Lib. I'd steer clear of Cath and Armory tho (I completed them with my 51 hunter solo, but freign'd a few times).

I think RFK might be ok for ya too, I can't remember.

*Or as the other poster said, just quest. Get the mageweave/item drops (save some stacks for the next level in tailoring) then sell the rest and buy silk.

*edit*
Oh and ask some guildies. I think silk sometimes dropped down to like 70s on my server, so I have like 10 stacks from questing in my bank waiting on the price to inflate, I'd toss you a few stacks.. it's only a couple of gold, no biggie.

Not sure what kind of level 53 you are (mage, 'lock, warrior?) but if you are a mage, you can go to the wetlands and clear out the ogre camps with Arcane explosion in no time and walk away with a ton of silk.

You never said what faction you were but on my server I found out that the Warsong Lumber Camp in Ashenvale was a cover operation for a silk farm :-)

I am a 67 pally and I have found the best place for me to get silk cloth has been SM I clear all 4 areas and most of the time have close to 150 or more silk sometimes i will run lowbes through with me to help with AoE to run faster and ask them for all the silk that they pick-up I have never run into a prob with anyone not wanting to give me the silk lots of time they will give me extra that they have on them. Last weekend I ran SM one time with a full party and came out of it with close to 500 silk was very nice to help lvl my alts tailoring.

I'm thinking about clearing out the hostile centaurs in Desolace. Trying to solo SM is a drag because of all the resting after kills.

Stick to the Lib and you should be just fine.

I think the only reason we're suggesting instances is because they cloth drops are multiplied. I might be wrong, but I remember getting 5 cloths off one mob. So you'd save time, and have a better shot at items = more money to buy silk (if needed). Win/win in my book. Worth the small bit of downtime.

Or you can do that deal in Desolance like you suggested... it is your game after all =)

Just did a little bit of the SM. Went right upt he stairs and into the instance on the right. Got about 20 silk in about an half hour (then I had ta quit). Maybe I'll farm there some more.

I'm also looking to farm some silk, can I do SM at level 42? If not, where else should I go? According to the numbers Silverpine is pretty good.

SM is a great place to farm silk, almost every mob drops 1-2.
