I have seem jewelcrafting recipes in AH that had e.g. Aldor faction reputation requirement. My question is - is that a requirement for buying them from the vendor, or also for learning it?
Until you reach the required rep, they will be "red" to you i.e. unbuyable.
How can an item in AH be unbuyable? :P
I know I can not buy it from the vendor, but can I learn it if I get it from AH?

How bout this? Is the recipe still Red to you when you browse it on the AH? If it is still red, you won't be able to learn it til you reach the required rep. I figure it's the same whether you buy the recipe from the vendor directly or off the AH.
No. Just like a dagger for a paladin, you can buy it, but when you try to equip it (or learn it) it will say something along the lines of "you do not have the required skill" (or reputation, or level, or whatever happens to be red on the description of the item.)
Oh you are right, it must be the same as recipes with LW/BS specialization requirement. You can get them, but you can't learn them. I don't know why this seemed unclear before. Must be the fact that usually faction reputation was tied to purchasing, not using.
