Im making a hunter and I plan on giving him enginneering because I like making cool gadjets. My dad has a warlock who has mining and he is going to give me all the minerals I need for enginneering. What other trade skill should I give my hunter?

It depends... What is the warlock's other profession? Is your main goal to make gold or to craft items for yourself? Here are a few ideas:

Skinner - This skill would provide additional mats for engineering and could be used to feed tailoring if that is the lock's other profession. It is also nice for a hunter, in that you don't have to switch items tracked on the minimap.

Enchanter/Jewelcrafter - These skills are expensive to level, but could be used to support both hunter and warlock. (dis)Enchanting can also be an excellent source of income later in the game.

Herbalism - You can make decent money (likely more profit than leather) selling herbs on the auction house. However, you would need to change from tracking mobs to herbs on the minimap.

QFT

I have an engineer/skinner Hunter who sells all his leathers on the AH and makes enough cash to lvl engineering to 300 and get a mount at 40 np.

If you can get some cash together try putting a bid on all the low priced bars and ores on the AH last thing at night, I would often log on to a mail box full of cheap metal, sometimes I could sell this for a profit as well !!11one11!!

p.s if your on a horde side there is a gun you can make that is used by every horde for a quest and I sold them for 1-2g a time
